Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule. Trek to Nagdi
Bhulbhule - The adventure begins with a picturesque drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule on a local bus. This journey lasts approximately 5-6 hours, with occasional stops for meals. The route follows the Pokhara highway, skirting the banks of the Marshyangdi River and passing through the scattered settlements of Dumre and Besisahar. After 5-6 hours, we arrive at Bhulbhule. From there, we embark on a one-hour uphill hike leading to the village of Nagdi, where we will spend the night.
Trek to Chamje
Jagat - Our trek officially starts as we depart from Nagdi, heading towards the village of Chamje. This leg of the journey takes about 6-7 hours along the classic Annapurna trail, which is adorned with abundant rhododendron trees. We navigate a steep and slippery path through paddy fields and small Tibetan-influenced settlements, eventually reaching Chamje. Overnight stay at Chamje.
Trek to Dharapani
Dharapani - After a hearty breakfast, we continue our journey to Tilicho, with Dharapani as today’s destination. The trail begins with winding paths along the Marsyangdi River until we reach a suspension bridge over the river. After crossing, the trail gradually becomes steeper as we head towards Tal.
Tal marks the entrance to the Manang Valley. Along the way, we observe fields of barley, rice, and potatoes, as well as pine forests, as we pass through the village of Khotro. The trail then descends into wooded forests until it reaches another suspension bridge. After passing through the settlements of Karte and Nache, we finally arrive at Dharapani for an overnight stay.
Trek to Chame
Chame - On the fourth day, we proceed to Chame after a quick check of the ACAP permits by officials. We first walk to the village of Baggarchap, passing through lush forests of hemlock, maple, and oak trees. Continuing along the trail, we pass through wooded forests into Danaque, where abundant apple orchards can be found.
The trail then becomes zig-zag with many winding turns, covered with lush rhododendron trees. After 2 to 3 hours of walking along this trail, we reach Chame, which offers breathtaking views of the Lamjung and Annapurna II/IV mountains. Overnight stay at Chame.
Trek to Pisang
Trek to Manang
Manang - Our journey begins with an uphill climb through abundant pine trees leading to a small lake. The trail then diverges towards a light settlement adorned with painted mandalas and waving prayer flags. The landscapes gradually change from verdant meadows to summer pastures and rocky terrains as we approach Manang.
After a few hours, the trail ascends a steep ridge along the banks of the Marshyangdi River, eventually bringing us to the settlement of Ngawal. We continue through additional pine forests and farming terraces, finally arriving at Manang. Along the way, we pass through Braga, where we visit an ancient monastery rich in cultural history. Overnight stay at Manang.
Acclimatization Day at Manang
Manang - As we ascend above the 3000m mark, it’s essential to acclimatize to the high altitude. We take a rest day to help our bodies adjust and relieve some muscular stress after several days of uphill hiking.
To make the day more productive, we explore Manang, which offers some of the most exquisite views of the Gangapurna Icefall and the nearby glacial lake. Other major attractions include Khangsur village, Kecho lake, or Milarepa cave. Overnight stay at Manang.
Trek to Tilicho Base Camp
Visit the Tilicho Lake then back to Siri Kharka
Tilicho Lake - Today is the highlight of the trek as we visit Tilicho Lake. We start early, walking along a side valley with steep moraines. Along the way, we enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding icy peaks, including Tarke Gyang, Gangapurna, and Khangsar Kang.
After a few hours of walking along the steep incline, we reach the mystical Tilicho Lake. Often frozen due to the cold temperatures, the lake reflects the mountains on its solid surface. After spending some well-deserved time at the lake, we head back down to Siri Kharka for the night.
Trek to Lather
Yak Kharka - Today’s journey begins with a descent as we head towards Lather. We pass through alpine vistas and diminishing vegetation. The trail then transitions into a gradual uphill climb through abundant scrub juniper and alpine shrubs into Yak Kharka.
From Yak Kharka, the trail veers eastward along the banks of Jarsang Khola and descends steeply onto a wooden bridge connecting the riverbanks. An hour’s walk after crossing the bridge leads us to Lather. Along the way, we may catch glimpses of unique Himalayan wildlife. Overnight stay at Lather.
Trek to Thorong High Camp
Trek to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass
Thorong La Pass - This is the most challenging day of the entire trip. We traverse steeply inclined trails and high altitudes with occasional strong winds, so we start early. The path from the high camp to Thorung La Pass is rocky and steep, requiring significant physical endurance. The high altitude can cause fatigue and slow progress.
After a few hours of walking, we reach the pass at 5416m above sea level, where a sense of pure satisfaction awaits. We then continue our journey, descending to the other side of the moraine.
The descent is steep, and trekking poles are beneficial. After 2-3 hours of walking, we arrive at the holy shrine of Muktinath, where you can offer prayers to the sacred deity and experience the renowned 108 showers of the temple.
Trek to Jomsom
Jomsom - As the trip nears its end, we head towards Jomsom to catch a bus back to Pokhara. The journey begins after a quick breakfast as we trek along the dusty hills of Jomsom. The route descends with winding twists and turns until we reach Kagbeni.
From Kagbeni, there are two paths: one leads to Jomsom, and the other to Upper Mustang. We continue towards Jomsom. The path from Kagbeni to Jomsom is generally level, offering fantastic backdrop views of the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains. After 4-5 hours of trekking, we reach Jomsom for an overnight stay.
Drive back to Pokhara
Pokhara - The trek officially concludes as we drive back to Pokhara. The journey takes about 6-7 hours and is scenic, with verdant landscapes and rushing streams delighting the eyes. We pass through the settlements of Tatopani, Beni, and Kusma before reaching Pokhara.
Upon arrival in Pokhara, our representatives will escort you to the hotel. After checking in, you can spend the evening at one of the local pubs in Pokhara, sharing travel stories with fellow adventurers.
Drive to Kathmandu
