Kathmandu Heritage Sightseeing (1,300m/4,264ft)
Kathmandu Durbar Square - Situated in the city’s heart, Kathmandu Durbar Square is a testament to Nepal’s ancient royalty. This expansive Royal square features a variety of temples dedicated to Hindu deities. Highlights include Kumari Ghar, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, Kaal Bhairav, and Jagannath Temple.
Swayambhunath Temple - Located on a western hill in Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is a renowned Buddhist stupa and a major attraction. Its ancient architecture and symbolism make it significant in both Buddhist and Hindu cultures. The stupa includes numerous important shrines, a monastery, temples, a museum, and a library.
Pashupatinath Temple - Pashupatinath Temple is a revered Hindu shrine and the largest Hindu temple in South Asia, featuring iconic deities and numerous Shiva Lingams. The two-tiered golden temple exemplifies Nepalese architecture. While tourists cannot enter the temple, they can observe open cremations along the Bagmati River.
Boudhanath Stupa - Boudhanath Stupa is one of the world’s largest and oldest Buddhist monuments. Believed to be the tomb of Kassapa Buddha, it is a significant Buddhist site. Architecturally, the dome-shaped stupa is built in a Mandala style with three levels and adorned with colorful prayer flags, creating a vibrant yet peaceful atmosphere.
Drive to Chitwan (415m/1,362ft)
Chitwan National Park - After breakfast, embark on a wildlife adventure to Chitwan. The 5-6 hour drive via Mugling-Narayanghat road offers scenic views and a lively atmosphere. Upon arrival, check into the resort.
After lunch, enjoy a village tour to a nearby Tharu village to learn about their lifestyle. Visit the National Park visitor center to discover the park’s history and wildlife, and enjoy a sunset view from the Rapti River bank. In the evening, experience the Tharu Cultural Dance Program, showcasing the Tharus in their vibrant traditional attire.
Wildlife Activities at Chitwan (415m/1,362ft)
Chitwan National Park - Spend the day exploring Chitwan’s wilderness with a full day of jungle activities. Enjoy a canoe ride along the Rapti River for bird watching and spotting the rare Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles. Witness elephant bathing on the return trip. After lunch, embark on a Jeep safari in Chitwan National Park, where you may see deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, monkeys, leopards, sloth bears, and possibly the Royal Bengal Tiger. Encounter many other smaller mammals that inhabit Chitwan.
Drive to Pokhara (910m/2,984ft)
Pokhara - After breakfast, travel from Kathmandu to the stunning city of Pokhara. The 5-6 hour drive along Prithvi Highway is filled with terraced fields, green valleys, bustling bazaars, and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, choose to rest or take a walk around Phewa Lake in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Pokhara City Sightseeing (910m/2,984ft)
Pokhara - Begin the day with a pre-dawn excursion to Sarangkot, a renowned viewpoint at 1,592m offering breathtaking sunrise views and glimpses of the Annapurna Massif and Mt. Machhapuchhre. On the return to the hotel, visit Bindhya Basini Temple, a popular tourist spot in Pokhara. Perched on a small hill in Old Pokhara, this sacred temple is dedicated to Lord Durga, an incarnation of Parvati.
After breakfast, explore the Pokhara valley, visiting:

Later in the afternoon, enjoy boating on Fewa Lake.

Kathmandu - After breakfast, retrace the scenic route back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, relax and refresh at the hotel. In the evening, a representative from K.J. Adventures will take you to a farewell dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Nagarkot (2,160m/7,087ft)
Bhaktapur Durbar Square - After breakfast, check out of the hotel in Kathmandu and drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
Bhaktapur, an ancient city in the eastern Kathmandu valley, is known as “Nepal’s Cultural Gem” for its rich arts, architecture, culture, and history. This UNESCO World Heritage site features ancient palaces, temples, monuments, sculptures, and pagodas.
Nagarkot - After exploring Bhaktapur, drive to Nagarkot.
Nagarkot, a popular hill station 32 kilometers north of Kathmandu, is renowned for its stunning sunrise and sunset views. At 2,160m, it offers expansive views of the Himalayas and dramatic Kathmandu valley scenery. In good weather, enjoy views of some of the world’s highest mountains, including Mt. Everest, Manaslu, Annapurna, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal.
