Tour was great - Guide Anup was even better! - I took the day trip tour to Bhaktapur and Panauti from Kathmandu in late December 2024 and it was one of the best tours I’ve been on and I truly believe that Anup, my guide, was the key ingredient. The tour was incredibly informative. Both Anup and the Driver were waiting for me at the pick up location in a sleek BYD SUV so the ride was incredibly comfortable. We first made a stop in Bhaktapur where Anup taught me so much about the kingdoms that came before modern Nepal. I also asked Anup endless amount of questions throughout the tour and he was not only receptive but encouraging in my curiosity. It was such a joy to be able to nerd out with Anup, who has a masters degree in Nepali history. Being with Anup on that day really made me reflect on guides I have had before on other tours and that Anup is by far the most informed and smart guide out there. We also stopped for a coffee with a great view over one of the squares and then we got to try king curd, which is like a yoghurt specialty in the region. It was excellent!!! We then proceeded to Panuati. My one regret is not getting lunch while on the tour…but that is entirely my fault since I have a bad habit of skipping lunch most days. My sincere apologies to Anup and the Driver, who I almost certainly starved by skipping lunch lol. So to potential guests who are looking to join this tour, don’t be like me! Instead, grab lunch since there is an opportunity to go to a local person‘s house for lunch in Panauti. All in all, my deepest thanks to Anup who is an A+++ guide. Being with Anup on the tour was like walking around with a documentarian who knew everything about Nepal. If you join this tour, I sincerely believe you should try to request for Anup specifically. Have fun, y’all! (Oh and if it matters to you, Anup speaks excellent English and helped take really great photos of me!)

5/5 Sightseeing-Tour - The tour with Anup was fantastic! He impressed us with his knowledge, charm, and engaging anecdotes. Visiting Bhaktapur and Panauti was an incredible experience, full of history and culture. A special highlight was the lunch with a local family in Panauti – a unique opportunity to connect with the community and experience authentic hospitality. The route was perfectly planned, combining major landmarks with hidden gems. Highly recommended!

Good value, expert guide - I was lucky to have Puspa all to myself for the day tour. Any question I had she answered with enthusiasm and so much knowledge. It was very comfortable walking around with her.

Amazing trip to get in touch with local culture - Totally worth trip! This trip is the perfect way to know the history of the area and get in touch with Newar culture. Our guide Puspa displayed a deep knowledge about both villages and knows how to share this knowledge with the visitors.

A convenient and worthwhile escape from Kathmandu City. - It turned out that I was the only one on the tour today but we went anyway and it was great! My guide - Puspa, showed me everything I expected PLUS she included a tour of a paper making store, clay bowl making, singing bowls demo. We also visited a homestay location so I got a sense of what that experience might be like. And of course we visited Panauti as well. Both Puspa and our driver were professional and personable! It was an all round great day!

Fantastic Day Trip with an Amazing Guide - We recently took a day trip from Kathmandu to Bhaktapur and Panauti, and it was an incredible experience, made even better by our fantastic guide, Vivek. Vivek was not only extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of the places we visited but also very chatty and engaging. His friendly demeanour helped us relax and enjoy the day to the fullest. The day started with a comfortable car picking us up from our hotel, and the site visits were both fascinating and well-organised. A highlight of the trip was the lunch- Vivek arranged for us to have a meal with a local Nepali family. We were welcomed warmly into their home and treated to delicious, authentic meal, which was such a special and personal touch to the experience. Overall, it was a perfect day filled with culture, history, and fun, and I highly recommend this trip, especially if you have Vivek as your guide! Thank you Vivek Lucy

It is no surprise that... - It is no surprise that Bhaktapur is one of the most visited sites in Nepal. It is a truly beautiful and impressive historic city. Although much smaller, Panauti is also worth seeing. The tour was well planned and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. In fact, was difficult to absorb all the information we were given. The visual impressions will stay with me for a long time.
