THE best guide and porters, and overall a very helpful and professional company. Highly recommend to everyone! - Our EBC trek was one of the best experiences of my life. The scenery was beautiful, the people were all incredibly friendly, and getting to EBC was very fulfilling. Our guide, Shankar Bhatta, is one of the most professional, competent and lovely people that I have ever met. He always kept the trek paced to suit our abilities, was able to answer all of our questions, kept everything relaxed and stress-free (even when some changes had to be made unexpectedly), went well above and beyond his role, and made everyone feel comfortable at all times. He always had everyone's best interest at heart and looked out for our family at all times. Even when one of us started showing signs of altitude sickness, Shankar monitored them carefully and helped inform and guide us on what best to do, but always left the final decision to us (as long as our safety wasn't compromised). His experience, quick-thinking, and people skills cannot be understated. He is not only incredible at his job but is also a very kind and caring person who we enjoyed spending time with at all times. We all cannot recommend him enough and it will be hard to compare anyone against him in the future. Our porters, Bir Bhadur Rai, and Machhindra Rai were also fantastic. We always had our packs at our destinations in perfect condition, they worked very well as a team with Shankar and met us at stops along the way if we needed anything from our bags, and were always very professional and friendly. Machhindra spent our final trekking day from Lobuche to EBC with us, and was always ready to lend a hand, offer us water when we looked like we needed it and helped us perfectly in the hardest part of our trek. Bir went above and beyond his role as well, for example when he stayed behind at a lodge, to look after a group member that was experiencing altitude sickness, or when he worked together with Shankar which allowed us to split up the group and made us feel like we were in very safe hands. He is one of the friendliest and most professional people that I have ever worked with, and I would completely trust him as not only a porter, but also as a guide. Overall, I cannot recommend the team of Shankar, Bir and Machhindra enough, as well as the Himalayan Glacier team overall. Everyone that we dealt with, such as Samten (travel specialist) and Rajindra (ops manager) were extremely professional, friendly and beyond helpful in helping us organise all elements of the trek and our time in Nepal even beyond the EBC trek, and I would gladly work with them again in the future.

Trek to EBC - November 2024 - Had a terrific experience at the Everest Base Camp trek. One of the most beautiful hikes out there which offers amazing views of Everest and the neighboring Himalayan peaks, along with the chance to meet fellow hikers from around the world. Was extremely happy to have organized this trek through Himalayan Glacier. The team looked after me from the day I arrived in Kathmandu till the day I left, taking care of absolutely everything in between. Special mention goes to my guide Dhan Raj Gurung who supported me throughout the trek and made sure everything was looked after! Highly recommend doing EBC through Himalayan Glacier, even for first timers. The team there will make sure you have the best experience possible !

In a deteriorating situation you find out just how good HG are. - My 18yo daughter had wanted to trek to Everest Base Camp for years. She finished high school so away we went. I'd trekked Mera Peak with Himalayan Glacier 6 years ago, and choose to go with them again as they had been so good on my previous trek. Saugat (HG sales agent contact) was tremendously helpful and flexible in tailoring the trek, timing, and pricing to suit us. The trek didn't go according to plan - I got a gut bacterial inflection early on that got progressively worse until finally a helo-medivac was necessarily. This is when you REALLY find out how good the trekking company you choose is. I can't say enough good things about how HG handled the situation. Our guide Babu was unbelievable from day one and lead the fantastic response to a deteriorating situation. So willing to share his knowledge and love of the region. His enthusiasm is infectious. He and his brother (our porter) progressively took the load as my energy levels were going down. Nikesh would port ahead, drop the gear, and trek back to help out. We called him superman. Babu was continually readjusting the plan as I slowed down and constantly ensuring I was hydrating and eating as best I could. In spite of best efforts to get us to EBC - at least we made it far enough to get some great views of Everest - Babu and I agreed it was time to pull the pin. Babu arranged everything (with support of the head office) to get us helicoptered out, and dealt with the hospital and insurance company taking all those worries away from me. He knew all the right people at ever stage, making the process as smooth as possible. I wish we could have finished the trek as planned under the fantastic guiding of Babu, but can't be grateful enough we were lucky enough to have been assigned Babu as our guide, and that HG is such a professional, caring, and hardworking outfit. I'd recommend HG to anyone in a heartbeat. I'd also suggest to specifically request Babu as your guide. He's the best!

Unforgettable experience with Baburam and Nikesh - I had a wonderful experience with Himalayan Glaciers. Baburam(my guide) and Nikesh(my porter) were phenomenal and made the arduous expedition work in my favor.

My Trekking Experience with Himalayan Glacier - I started my trek with Himalayan Glaciers in mid- May in 2023 when I was 15 soon to turn 16 along with my dad beside me. After I arrived at the airport in Kathmandu our guide, Babu was the first to spot us and give a ride to our very nice hotel. Babu gave us a tour of the surrounding city blocks around the hotel, allowing us to convert money, buy souvenirs, and just show us some general landmarks. When we first arrived to the Kathmandu airport to start our Trek, the weather wasn’t looking good. Cloudy weather all across the live camera showing Lukla (our flight destination). The flights were cancelled, however Babu was quick to find us a way to get up onto the trail. Babu organized a helicopter ride up to a place just below Lukla. Then our trek was started with Me, my dad, Babu, and our porter who was aptly nicknamed “Superman” Nikesh . As we traveled up the trail Babu would mention every mountain peak and every stop, Babu would give us the best of accommodations. Even as we were nearing the top Babu never lost momentum and kept us going. When we reached Basecamp Babu was more than willing to take photos and share the beautiful view with us. Nikesh had come with us and was more than willing to carry our bags, which at that point had become rather difficult to carry with the altitude affecting us. Throughout our whole journey, Babu, Nikesh, and Sagar (the company owner) were very accustomed to tourists and very accommodating and caring. Even when we were tired and grumpy, Babu would keep the energy up and wouldn’t let us keep ourselves down. So all in all I would highly recommend Babu as our Guide, Nikesh as a wonderful spirit and porter, and Sagar as the man who organized the whole adventure and was very kind to us when we were back in Kathmandu. Everest base camp trek. - I trekked to Everest base camp with my guide Deu Ghale and porter Nikesh Khatri. Deu was an amazing guide and helped me every step of the way. Our mantra was slow and steady as we made our way up. Deu was very patient and always willing to share his knowledge of the area pointing out the names of all the surrounding peaks. Nikesh was the best! He was so strong carrying our gear it was amazing. He helped me many times during the hike. He would guide me thru the really tough spots showing me the best way to go and even offered a little assistance when needed with a steady hand. He even returned to the tea house one day when we were on a acclimatization hike and I realized I had forgotten my phone. He was down and back so fast it was amazing. I can't thank these 2 great guys enough. We had tea and cookies every day at 5. Deu would recap our day and go over next days itinerary. We would take our oxygen levels and resting pulse which was great feedback. Nikesh had fresh fruit at lunch and dinner which was delicious! I would recommend Himalayan Glacier to anyone wanting to trek in Nepal. They gave me the royal treatment in every way. Thank you so much!

Everest Base Camp Trek May 2023 - I did the EBC trek in May of 2023 with 5 friends. We had an amazing experience with Himalayan Glacier from landing at the airport to taking back off. Our guide, Aasbir Gurung, was very attentive the whole time to any physical concerns and was fully committed to making sure we were in the best physical health to make it to the top. He even went over and beyond to help our friends do a last minute anniversary ceremony along the trek. I had such a great experience and would definitely recommend Himalayan Glacier/consider doing another trip with them!

Everest Base Camp Trek - We had travelled to Everest Base camp . We were total six members along a guide and the potter. Exceliernyt tour leader who was informed, informative , capable, intutive, consientious and smart made our trip easy.
