EBC the BEST way - This journey became more than just a trek to EBC…it became an imprint of amazing wonder, unfathomable beauty, emotional fulfillment, and adding family from a place that you never knew existed. Our guide, Dambar, really made this trip greater than can be imagined. He was our motivation, pacer, comic relief, evening entertainment, and ended the trip as the missing piece to something I didnt know I was missing. It made the trip of a liftetime that much more sensational. Highly recommend Dambar, the sherpas, and this company. Even through unexpected weather delays of 3 days…it made it all worth it. Thank you for the memories that will never be surpassed.

Amazing EBC Experience - EBC has been in my bucket list for many years. I was supposed to initially come in august of 2020 and had to cancel due to COVID. We just completed EBC a few days ago and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. Our guide was Dambar and our porter was Naren. They were both amazing and I couldn’t imagine having done the trek without them. From the very beginning of the trek we felt as if we were part of their extended family. They made sure we had the best experience, really considering our needs. Dambar set a good pace and was always on the look out for wildlife or flora and geology (which my partner and I both love). It was great to learn about the history and the culture and the facts about the Himalayas. Naren, carried our 2 duffles up and down the narrow paths with such ease that most of the time he was waiting for us to catch up (with my 5lb bag lol). Then he’d ask if I needed help. Such a great experience on the EBC trek. Thank you to both of you for making out experiences so memorable.

Great time trekking to EBC - We are nearing the end of this wonderful adventure. Our time in Kathmandu was excellent. All of our transportation ran smoothly as did our tour day in KTM. When flights weren't flying to Lukla a helicopter ride from KTM was arranged for us. That was an adventure in itself, but we were glad to begin our trek on schedule. Our guide Dembar is quiet-spoken, with the biggest smile. He is very knowledgeable about the Himalayan mountain ranges, and patient as we tried to learn mountain and village names. He is well-organized, generous and if we had a question, he either had the answer or found it out. We had the best time with him. Our porter Dej is a champ, carrying our gear up the mountain, always with a smile, even when it rained. We have been so happy with our tour and highly recommend Luxury Holidays.

The most incredible experience! - I did the Everest base camp trek with heli return with Luxury Holidays and the trip was absolutely incredible. From my first arrival in Kathmandu, everything was well organized from the company from airport pickup to meeting Ram at the hotel to go over the weeks itinerary. When the weather wasn’t looking promising for a flight into Lukla, Ram organized a helicopter for us to get there from Kathmandu to stay on schedule at an incredibly reasonable price compared to what was advertised by other companies. I was initially nervous how the week was going to go because I was the only person on my trek, but that quickly went away as soon as I met my incredible guide Raj Tamang. Raj was so knowledgeable about the area and was such a cool guy- we became quick friends. The long days of hiking went by like no time at all with his great conversation about everything from Nepal culture and history, food, and just life in general. Honestly, having Raj as my guide made the trek the incredible experience it was. It want all just fun and games too- he was always looking out for me and my safety making sure I was adjusting to the altitude, drinking enough water, and making sure I took enough breaks on the hikes. I couldn’t speak more highly about Raj- he’s truly the best!! In addition, our porter Sushil was incredibly friendly and helpful and I couldn’t have done it without him! The trek had some typical Nepali hiccups along the way that were totally out of our control, namely the weather, but we were super fortunate to have a picture perfect last day making it to EBC. Getting back to Kathmandu from Lukla posed an additional challenge, as the weather was terrible again and the flights only operated very briefly to a town about 6 hrs drive from Kathmandu. Again, Ram was able to organize a helicopter back to Kathmandu to keep me on schedule so I wouldn’t miss my flight. Next time, I would recommend adding at least a couple buffer days to avoid these last minute stresses but Ram was able to come to the rescue! Overall, my EBC trek was a once in a lifetime experience. The whole team at Luxury Holidays, especially my guide Raj, made my time in Nepal truly incredible. I couldn’t recommend them enough!!

Mountain Ram will get you there! - Date: 20-31 March 2024 Tour: Everest Base Camp Trek Guide: Ram Prasad Lamichhane This was our first time visiting Nepal and the Himalayas. We met Ram at our Hotel where he introduced himself, he was very friendly and we knew we were in safe hands. During the trek, we did struggle with the altitude and we were walking quite slowly. The uphills just never ended! Ram and our Sherpa (Bishnu) were so kind and never made us feel uncomfortable. They stuck by our side and made sure we made it to the next Tea House safely. If you are planning a trek in the Himalayas, we cannot recommend Ram enough!

Fantastic trek guided by Dambar with Yubaraj and Bikra - Luxury Holidays organised a fantastic two week trek to Everest Base Camp and back for our family (two adults and two children - 12 & 14). They arranged all our relevant transportation within Nepal and were very accommodating of any additional requests that we had. The flights to and from Lukla are always weather dependant and the team at Luxury Holidays made sure that our trek was successful even with a days' delay arriving in Lukla. This put back our trek but our high altitude guide Dambar made sure that we had places to stay every night even though the trail was very busy due to lots of delayed passengers arriving at once. For the trek itself we were guided by Dambar and had two porters - Yubaraj and Bikra - carrying our bags. Together they looked after us very well. Dambar was keen that we didn't rush ourselves and was very patient with our pace. He could point out not just the range of mountains but also flora and arable crops as well as birds and animals. As a small group with children, it was really assuring to know that Dambar and our porters were keen to look after our children. This meant for example Yubaraj walking with the children when they were faster and also on the final trek to Base Camp in case they got into difficulties so the adults could carry on. In fact, the children did better than the adults! Dambar was very good at helping with the breakfast, lunch and dinner orders and also other parts of our trip - helping with photos or just simply with organising the occasional hot shower or electricity requests. At the end of our trip we also had weather issues with the outward flight from Lukla. Despite Lukla being busy, Dambar secured us an extra night at the same hotel with the same rooms to make our additional nights' stay more convenient for us. We then decided on helicopter out so we could get to our international flight and he sorted this in a way that we got on the list early and for a good price. He was professional all the way through. We had some good laughs with Dambar, Yubaraj and Bikra throughout our two week journey. We highly recommend them and also Luxury Holidays for making it a success. Finally, not everyone makes it to Base Camp ok. Dambar has a 100% record and I think that is down to his patience and reassurance not to rush, so that you get used to the altitude. That is just what you want on these trips., especially with children. All the best to Dambar for his future.

Ram is the best guide in the Himalayas! - Everest Base Camp Trek 20-31 March 2024 Guide: Ram Prasad Lamichhane Knowledge: Ram displayed a vast knowledge of all the mountains (altitude, names and brief stories) during our hike. He told us why the river water is blue and that the vast farm fields of soil would be covered in potato plants later in the monsoon season. We learnt a lot from him. Personality: We never had a dull moment with Ram. He took pictures with us and we exchanged them via Whatsapp after the hike. We spoke about his family and learnt about his culture and traditions. He never made us feel uncomfortable even when we were hiking at a slow pace and he had to wait for us. Professionalism: Ram took great care of us, we didn't to worry about admin/permits/cards. He took our orders at the Tea Houses and made sure we settled our account before we left. We hiked at a reasonable pace, but Ram made sure we got to our destination each day. He asked to start early so that we could end early, and it worked. He knows how to get you from A to B safely. Ram is also willing to be flexible within reason. I had contracted a bladder infection and couldn’t make it to the desired Tea House during one of our descend days. We explained this to Ram and he managed to organise an alternative Tea House for us that was closer. He did explain that we had to start earlier the next day, which we agreed to. We managed to finish our Trek on time thanks to Ram’s guidance. Ram has a great relationship with the many guides and porters on the Trek. Our porter was Bishnu. Ram and Bishnu were the perfect team, they behave more like brothers than business colleagues. You can see how much they trust and respect each other. Overall: We really enjoyed our time with Ram Prasad Lamichhane, we feel we were lucky to have had him on our first trip to Nepal. We highly recommend his services to anyone planning a trek to the Himalayas.

9 Day Everest Base CampTrek with Heli - I thank all concerned for helping me make this trip possible. A short distance into the walk, my knee gave out. I didn't want to return home so the solution Ram (the best tour guide ever) came up with was, I ride a horse. Gyalzen was the owner of my trusty steed Canty. I also had the porters Netra and Manoj close by. This was a first for me in many ways, my first overseas trip, my first hike, my first horse ride. and what a trip it was. It is like another world, the views are breathtaking, and everyone concerned was amazing and went above and beyond to help me. We also met some wonderful people along the way. The teahouses were very clean and tidy with western toilets in all the teahouses we stayed at. The food is plentiful and delicious. I traveled with my 2 sons (32 and 44) enjoying every meal they devoured. The ginger, lemon, and honey tea is excellent. We all took far more clothing than required (3 sets). The helicopter flight out showed us so much more and we were thrilled that we chose this option. I am 65, female, with stage 4 cancer, my time is limited and I am so very grateful that I made this with these wonderful people and Canty.

9 Day Everest Base Camp Trek with Heli - First of all, I want to give my guide Ram and our porters Netra & Manoj a massive thank you. Without them, obviously none of this would have been possible. Ram went above and beyond to ensure the trip went as smoothly and safely as possible. Making sure everyone with me inclusive of fitness and ability could not only enjoy, but also accomplish the trek. Truly, to everyone involved. Thank you. This was a one of a kind and possibly once in a lifetime experience. Though now, I am genuinely thinking of revisiting and doing more purely from how well this all went. I couldn’t recommend this trip any higher. The scenery is like another planet, any time you tire you turn a corner or look up and it spurs you on. Onto the finer details. Give yourself a day or two either side of the trek in case you have flights delayed or canceled in Lukla due to weather. We had our Kathmandu to Lukla flight canceled (zero fault of the company - they don’t control the clouds). But this did cause a bit of stress on the day as I had booked the flights home with no room to spare so if we had a second delay the trip wouldn’t have been able to proceed as planned. This however was another occasion Ram went beyond the call. Arranging for a car ride the next morning to another airport to make sure we could complete the trek. The tea houses provided were far far better then you may expect or have heard - at least when it comes to the ones Luxury Nepal find you. Every single night we find ourselves in clean rooms with clean communal areas and western toilets the entire trip. On top of that only 2 of the night were these toilets not ensuite’s. So no need to leave your room in the night. Again I could not speak highly enough of Luxury Nepal, Ram, his team, everything and everyone involved. If you’re thinking about this trip. Just do it. You won’t be sorry.

EBC trek off season, expected additional costs - We had a great experience trekking to Everest base camp. Our guide and porter, Dambar and Naren, were very knowledgable, accommodating and attentive to our needs. (5/5) Communication with the company before the trek was challenging. After much back and forth, they eventually did make requested changes. Get clear with them about guide/porter salaries and expected additional tip money and mountain food costs before you book. (3/5) It was worth booking in off-season to avoid traffic jams on trails and tea houses. Afternoons were rainy and misty but morning views were still spectacular.
