Dream EBC Trek with Himalayan Leisure - Everest Base Camp trek had been on my list for a long time and Upendra helped me plan the perfect trip from the get go. He was patient, answered all my questions and explained the various options over a long period of time to ensure I was able to book the dream trip I wanted without any hassles. Once I reached Nepal, he managed all the logistics to ensure I had the smoothest trip possible. On the trek, my guide was Kumar and he was the best guide once could ask for. On the morning of the start of the trek, as flights weren't taking off, he made sure we got a helicopter to start the trek instead of endless waiting at the airport for flights to take off. When I fell sick in Namche, he offered me the right advise and was very flexible in his plans to make sure that I was able to continue my trek without risking any further health issues. He listened to what I wanted to do on the trek and where I wanted to stop and then offered me various options accordingly. The entire trek was an absolutely wonderful experience and despite falling sick on the trail and occasionally struggling with the cold and the altitude, Kumar and the Himalayan Leisure team ensured I was able to have a great experience and still fulfill my dream of trekking to the Everest base camp. I could not recommend Kumar as a guide highly enough for your trek in Nepal and the team at Himalayan Leisure to plan your trek.

The best - We were actually with another company but fortunately had the pleasure of walking with another couple that were with Himalayan Leisure. Their guide and porter, Lal and Numraz, were exceptionally helpful, kind, funny and knowledgeable. They were always offering to help where possible and were always so happy and supportive. If you are considering doing EBC; you should absolutely pick Lal and Numraz as your guide and porter! You’re guaranteed to have an amazing time.

Once in a lifetime trip - It is hard to express in words how incredible this trip was… a once in a lifetime trip made even more incredible by our wonderful guide, Lal and porter, Numraj. Lal and Numraj worked so well together and it was truly lovely to see our porter so present (other groups didn’t have the same experience)… this gave us lots of laughs and we felt looked after the entire trip. Without a doubt, Lal was the best guide we have ever had! He went above and beyond every day, including arranging a birthday cake for my partner. Despite my 1000 questions, Lal answered everyone with a huge smile and it’s clear how knowledgeable he is! Numraj also went above and beyond as our porter and even helped carry our bags to the airport after he had officially stopped being a porter. When we were struggling to breathe at high altitude, Numraj stepped in to offer help. Not only was he helpful to us he even offered to carry the day bags of friends we made on the way when they were also struggling. A wonderful trip and I really cannot recommend enough!

Lal and Numraj were the best people we have ever met. - My girlfriend got me the 12 day EBC trek as a birthday present. We were just a pair of 2. We had Lal and Numraj with us for the 12 days and without a doubt they were the most kind, caring and knowledgeable people. They were incredible from day 1 to day 12 and looked after us like we were a family. They organised absolutely everything each day so that all we had to worry about was walking. If you book, I'd recommend asking for Lal and Numraj, they worked so well together (together for 10 years so far) and made the trip unforgettable!

The driving force behind making our EBC trek possible - We are incredibly happy and fortunate to have chosen Upendra and Himalayan Leisure for our Everest Base Camp trek! From the very beginning, our experience was seamless. I initially reached out to several companies with questions, and Upendra stood out with his clear and straightforward responses - no hard selling, just simple, honest, and to-the-point answers. I explained that we preferred a private trek with just a guide and two porters for the three of us, allowing us to move at our own pace and pay for each day as needed. Over the next few months, we exchanged countless emails, and I greatly appreciated Upendra's time, patience, and dedication as our initial idea gradually transformed into a well-organized plan. When we arrived in Nepal, it was just two weeks after a devastating monsoon had caused severe flooding and landslides, washing away roads and bridges. These challenges made reaching Lukla - a starting point for the EBC trek - a logistical nightmare, forcing many travellers to cancel their plans or switch to other trekking regions. However, Upendra devised a flexible and adaptive plan, complete with contingencies (Plans A, B, C, and even D!) based on weather, closures and other factors. Long story short, - after a private transfer to Ramechhap via challenging alternative routes and facing delays at Manthali airport due to weather, flight backlog and grounded airplanes, Upendra pulled his strings to secure us a helicopter ride to Lukla. His effort allowed us to finally begin our trek. Our guide, Hari, was another highlight of our journey. He was funny, easygoing, helpful, informative, encouraging, and incredibly patient - especially when our pace reached snail/turtle speed at higher altitudes. He made the experience truly enjoyable, and we were lucky to have him by our side. We had such a great time with him! At the end of the trek, Upendra exceeded expectations once again by arranging for our flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (those flights were so rare as most go to Ramechhap during the high season), saving us the gruelling 7-8 hr road transfer from Ramechhap. We were so grateful for this, especially after completing such an exhausting trek. From handling helicopter payments to providing high-quality duffel bags and the warmest sleeping bags (which were lifesavers during those dreaded cold nights), the list of little details in between is endless! He even passed and surprised us with fresh fruits like apples and pomegranates, which were “prepared” by our guide Hari after each dinner - a thoughtful touch of the daily dose of vitamins that boosted our health when such luxuries were scarce on the menu :) The combination of Upendra’s organizational skills, our guide Hari’s expertise, the support of our hardworking porters, and the carefully selected teahouses (many with private toilets - a true comfort during freezing nights! 😊) made this adventure unforgettable. Upendra’s ability to adapt plans, rebook flights, switch airlines, and provide seamless assistance during the trek is truly what you need during an adventure like this! We would not be able to do it without him! We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have had Upendra and his team by our side. Many fellow trekkers we met shared stories of cancelled plans or redirected routes because their providers couldn’t overcome logistical challenges, or as they said “their companies were not able to come through and find a solution to get to a start of EBC trek”. EBC and Cho La Pass perfect trek! - Upendra and our guide Kumar took really great care of us to make sure we not only got the trip we wanted but also that it went perfectly. Their communication was excellent as we planned the trip over a number of months. Kumar was on top of everything during the trek, even making sure my friend had a birthday cake and candles in one of the tea houses. The company is well known and they have good contacts with airlines and tea houses meaning we got the best flights and better rooms than we may have. Due to Kumar’s timing, we were also on the trail early and had the Himalayas to ourselves sometimes. It was a beautiful experience. Thanks Kunar!

Great trip with Kumar. - Great trip! Upendra the main man was very helpful prior to the trip with all our questions. We had a lot…..that’s the problem with reading too much and the internet. He calmed our nerves and questions. Was met at the airport by Kumar our guide. Very nice guy. Friendly, kind, knowledgeable and calm. He told us that he had done the EBC trek over 50 times which chilled us out knowing we had a super experienced guide. The organisation of the whole trip was really slick. We opted for a helicopter transfer to Lukla which I can highly recommend. Was a once in a lifetime experience. Kumar guided us the whole way to the airport and through security etc. met up with our two porters in Lukla. Really friendly happy 20 year olds. They made our trek even better with their happy attitudes. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a hard few days walking but very enjoyable. Kumar was great in helping us with the pace and acclimatisation. Unfortunately one of our party got quite bad altitude sickness and we had to split up. Kumar was very diligent and sorted out everything so half of us could go down with a porter and the other could go on and complete the EBC trek. We had constant contact. Everyone was very happy. We had a few good days in Namche doing some day treks. I can recommend Namche Terrace if you want some luxury facilities for a few days. On the way back Kumar and Upendra are very close with the people who run Lukla airport which was really helpful. Sorted direct flights back to Kathmandu and had complete knowledge of when the flights are going etc. saved us sitting cramped up in the small Lukla waiting hall. All in all I can highly recommend this company and Kumar and his porters. Great trip. Amazing scenery and felt safe and in good hands all along the trip. Thank you.

EBC and Cho La Pass - Himalayan leisure was recommended to me by colleague at work with used the company for the EBC track previously. From the outset Upendra was extremely helpful and professional in providing initial information about the options for our trip to Nepal. Upendra set out the different configurations of trip in a way which was easy to understand and was extremely prompt and responsive in regard to all our enquiries. Once we had decided on the configuration of our trip (EBC and Cho La pass) Upendra made all of the practical arrangements extremely straightforward. He was always willing to help with any enquiries and provided his WhatsApp details from the outset and so was able to respond to any small or big enquiries in a timely fashion. Arranging the trip was seamless and all of the practical elements required action without a hitch. On arrival in Nepal we were met by Kumar, our mountain guide and we traveled directly from the airport with him He introduced the schedule and set the scene for the next days. We had a few days in Kathmandu. Kumar and Upendra clearly explained what was going to take place over the duration of the trip to EBC. Once in the mountains, Kumar was professional and diligent in everything that he did. He put us at ease in regard to any concerns we had around the challenging nature of the walk. All arrangements in regards to accommodation food and practical issues were taken care of by him. He made it seem extremely easy and as participants of the trek we always felt we were in good hands and that he is his main priority was our care and comfort for the duration of the walk. Kumar was excellent in helping the group deal with the challenges of the walk. His obvious experience helped us with walking pace, required breaks acclamation and rest days. He did everything in a way to achieve success on the walk. It was my birthday during the trek and Kumar arranged a birthday cake for me in Pangboche! Such a nice touch! It is also very helpful that Upendra and Kumar have very good personal and professional relationships with the flight managers at Lukla. This allowed the navigation of the uncertainty around flights to become more straightforward because the Himalayan leisure team members have direct links with the flight companies and therefore can get clients onto flights are very short notice. This is extremely important in regards to being stuck in Lukla potentially for days if flights are not available. Thankfully with Upendra and Kumar‘s help , in period of bad weather we were able to depart from Lukla in very good time. Overall, I could not fault the service provided by Upendra and Kumar under the umbrella of Himalayan leisure. They were always professional friendly and courteous. Logistics were made easy and all anxieties and concerns were attended to , professionally and without delay. I would highly recommend using Himalayan leisure to provide you the services for an exceedingly enjoyable walk in Nepal. Thank you very much to the team. Very exceptional and professional service overall - strongly recommend Himalayan Leisure for EBC trek - Himalayan Leisure and Upendra were recommended by one of our friends who went on EBC trek. Once I got the contact details, I called Upendraji on his cell / WhatsApp. With the initial conversation, I felt, this is the person & the company who can help us fulfil our dreams of trekking Mt Everest Base Camp. From the initial call to millions more calls over a period of few months, Upendra was patient and highly professional in responding to every question and his approach to helping us successfully complete the EBC trek. As with any trip, specially EBC trek, there were a lot of risks, unknows, & unpredictable weather. Nepal just went through one of the worst flooding disasters in the country’s history with hundreds of people died. Nepalese govt redirected every commercial helicopter to the search and rescue. It was the meticulous planning discussions with Upendraji that helped us to formalize and finalize our trek plan. Given we had a very tight schedule, one of the big decisions that Upendraji insights helped was to take helicopter rather than the plane as the probability of starting/completing the trek was lot higher with the helicopter. Once we got to Kathmandu, Upendraji spent multiple hours walking through every little detail of the entire trek to ensure that our trek started, progressed, and completed right on time. We were introduced to our fabulous guides, Kumar and assistant guide Arjun. Upendra didn't let up until he made sure we were put on the helicopter and not eat into the buffer day we originally planned to have. The fun started on day one…3 of the six got on the heli to Lukla but the other 3 could not as the weather gods had a different plan. Fortunately, that worked in our favor as one of the team members was not feeling fell and this was an oppty to get addl rest in Kathmandu. Here in Lukla, we got introduced to our saviors, Ram & Kamal, the amazing porters without whom we would not have completed our dreams. THANK YOU Arjun, Kamal, & Ram! We all got to meet the next day and began our memorable trek… While we were trekking, Upendraji and our guide, Kumar, constantly checked with us and ensured we were progressing well without any health issues or sickness. Kumar is very knowledgeable about the Khumb valley and the mountains surrounding, incl the entire trek. Based on our speed and ability, Kumar gauged our speed and how long it would take, and accurately assessed the time it would take to reach the next stop. He was really on top of knowing and guiding us, whether we needed speeding up or slowing down. He also gave us great tips on food, cold/hot water, rests, internet and the pace/tricks for the trek that helped our group. He was meticulous and organized at the end of each day in laying out the plan for the next day, and giving a brief summary of how the day went. He also is an excellent singer which we enjoyed a great deal. EBC trek oktober 2024 - I completed the EBC trek in oktober. This trip was very high on my list, and It was even better than I expected. The EBC trek is worth it for the views alone! I am very glad that I booked my trip with Himalayan Leisure Inc. The touroperator Upendra is very professional. I had some delays to get to Kathmandu and also some delays for my flight to Lukla (because of the local weather conditions). Upendra responded very quickly to my emails/whatsapp messages and kept me up to date with different options I could take to Lukla. 2 days later than planned I arrived at Lukla, but thanks to Upendra it was possible. I did the trekking solo with Krishna as my guide and Dawa as my porter. Both of them are very professional, and I would highly recommend both of them for a trekking. Krishna made sure that the trip was as easy as possible for me. During the hiking asking multiple times if I was okay, or if I needed a break, or how far we needed to walk that day. The more we got to know eachother, the more jokes we made. It made my trip definitely much more enjoyable. Thanks to Himalayan Leisure Inc. for this amazing trip. If I visit Nepal for another trekking I will definitely book through Himalayan Leisure inc. again.
