Best service I have ever experienced. - Having lost my mother to cancer last year, her final wish was for her ashes to be scattered at Everest base camp - Iccicles came recommended from a friend who had recently climbed to EBC with them and they did not disappoint - From the minute I booked, they were responsive to all of my questions and queries, especially given the purpose of my trip. However, best of all they assigned Sandip as my guide for the 14 days, who I cannot speak highly enough of - his English was fantastic, he was patient and empathetic to my journey ensuring that every precaution was taken to ensure that I made EBC to scatter my mothers ashes and honour her final wishes - such as twice daily oxygen levels taken, not skipping acclimatisation days and walking extremely slow etc. On the ascent, he taught me about the Nepalese people, the mountains, the history, the rituals of the different religions that exist in Nepal and was keen to learn about my way of life etc. and experiences - Each day he managed my expectations from what I could expect from the day and quickly understood my strengths (flats and downhill - lol) and weaknesses (very steep climbs) and played to them to ensure I reached the next check point as I had never done anything like this before, even advising on what to wear each day to keep warm/cool and comfortable. As this was a different experience for me, Sandip ensured that each day was documented for me (through photos and videos) so I would have the memories for me and my family, especially on the days I struggled and I now have some great memories of the journey that I have been on - As this was a solo trip for me, Sandip made sure I never felt alone/board during the rest period, introducing me to other trekkers from Iccicles, guides, porters and teaching me how to play card (I won in the end!!) I would highly recommend Iccicles but even more so Sandip as a guide and his excellent trekking skills as I truly believe that I wouldn’t have made to EBC without him and his words of encouragement especially when I wanted to quit due to catching a cold and I will be externally grateful to him for that - Definitely ask for Sandip as your guide as you will not be disappointed.
