Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) or Drive to Manthali (4-6 hours) and Fly to Lukla, and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) - 3 to 4 hours

Travel Pinto - The Lukla flights to and from Kathmandu have been shifted to Manthali Airport, Ramechhap district due to heavy traffic congestion in Kathmandu airport during peak trekking season (March, April, May, October, November). An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 m). After landing we begin our trek in the Everest region by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). The walking is easy. After passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550 m), it is a short walk to Phakding.

Namche Bazaar

Namche Bazaar - We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing the majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes and bakeries. Namche is the biggest Sherpa settlement along the Everest trail.

Sherpa Museum

Sherpa Museum - We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air. We will trek a short distance to a museum that is celebrated for its exhibits of the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up the Syangboche Airport and the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed hotels in the world. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas including Mt Everest.

Trek to Tengboche (3,860 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Tengboche Gompa - The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi with magnificent views of the mountains. We’ll have trekked to an altitude of 3,860m upon reaching Tengboche. Inside the monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or in the morning dependent on the day’s trek.

Trek to Dingboche (4,350 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Dingboche - From Tengboche, the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We take our time, so we avoid getting affected by the altitude.

Acclimatization Hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 m) - 4 to 5 hours

Dingboche - This day is planned as acclimatization day. We don’t make progress towards Everest Base Camp. Instead we will take a hike to Nangkartshang peak just above Dingboche. The peak is an excellent view point. Especially of the gorgeous Ama Dablam. If weather is clear, we will get to see Ama Dablam from its summit to its feet. You can spend the afternoon strolling around the village or resting.

Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m) - 5 to 6 hours

Lobuche - Today, the trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We continue to climb as we are heading to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) and then Back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) - 7 to 8 hours

Mount Everest - This is a big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak Shep for the night.

Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) Early in the Morning and Trek Down to Pheriche (4,200 m) - 7 to 8 hours

Kala Patthar - This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at 5,555 m. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep and have hot breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) - 7 to 8 hours

Namche Bazaar - Leaving the mountains behind us, our descent takes us away from the Everest Base Camp through Pangboche and Tengboche before continuing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back to Namche in the afternoon.

Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) - 6 to 7 hours

Lukla - This is our last day of trekking in the Everest region as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trek-mates.

Tenzing-Hillary Airport

Lukla - Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains and the last morning in the Everest region we have recently visited, the 35 minutes scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we are met and transferred back to our starting hotel. If you are interested in extending the trip, there are many options such as Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities.

Transfer to the International Airport for your final departure

TIA - The Everest Base Camp trek concludes – our airport representative will drop you to Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.

With Travel Pinto again! - Dave was incredible to deal with. From our first contact (years back) on Travel Pinto, He was always available and made a great effort to really understand what we wanted. The trip went exactly as planned. Absolutely no issues along the way. And when we did have an issue on our home bound flight which had absolutely nothing to do with him, he was there helping us with last minute accommodation. Aryan also made an effort to come and meet us while in Thamel. The accommodation was great all the way through, Of a good standard and very comfortable. Special mention needs to be made of our guide Bassu who was with us for 15 days in the Everest Trekking. His knowledge was extensive of the region it’s history and politics. For us he made that part of our trip, and set a very high bar for any future guides. He was just a delight to be with.

Everest Base Camp Trekking with Travel Pinto. - This was an amazing trek, it was all about family, my elder brother’s birthday celebration at Everest Base Camp. So we all decided to have a different party, a party at the top of the Everest base Camp, a gang of ten, my friends and their cousins and so on. It was a great trip, as we were ten in number I had to plan everything well, from ticket booking to stay and organized with the help of Travel Pinto. They helped in many things all the way through. Well last month we all left to Kathmandu to proceed to trek Everest base camp, our journey started at well on time, and it was a time span or around ten to twelve days depending upon the energy and capacity of all of us. Not all in our group were experience, so we had to take a break then and there, it was really great to build camps and stay overnight in it. The bonfire, dances and Singing were some memorable moments from this trip. The food and the accommodation provided to us were luxurious. As promised our guide Mohan and Bishal were all along with us till the end and explained us about each and every part in detail. As this was our first trekking to Nepal we didn’t explore much, looking forward to visit again and explore in detail the Everest base Camp.

Everest Trekking - Our Everest trip was an incredible experience, from the communication with Travel Pinto, we felt at ease at all points of the trek. The guides were extremely well informed and always ready to assist with any aspect of the trek. I have already told many people about this trek, and about our guides but extra emphasis on the spectacular job Travel Pinto has done in the organization and on the trek.

There She Is - Framed in between Lhotse and Nuptse - Forever thinking about this incredible place, these mountains and all the hiking I want to do in this country. I had to have a serious talk to myself the other day. I started to panic about all the places I want to see and all the things I want to do before. I made it clear after consultation with operator from Travel Pinto and then decided to go for Everest Base Camp Trek. Not only, I went there but also climbed island peak in succession. The moment was surreal, great mountain, friendly travelers across the globe. There she was, standing proud framed by Nuptse and Lhotse. I instantly burst into tears, there stood mother nature’s most beautiful creation. I will never be in awe of both these moments sight of Mt. Everest and Mt. Ama Dablam! A great trip to remember for a lifetime and I would not hesitate to recommend Travel Pinto to anyone planning to visiting Nepal soon!

Everest Base Camp trekking with Travel Pinto - Dear Travel Pinto, Thank you so much for everything you managed for us. You have given us a most fantastic, memorable vacation at Nepal during Mt. Everest Trekking. Guide was extremely incredible, understandable and porters were very friendly (smiling faces). We enjoyed with all the service from beginning to ending of our trek (Airport to Everest base camp). Nepal is truly beautiful country and I really agree its like a heaven. There is lots of beautiful places, more left to be explored. We will definitely visit more places, do adventures activities next time and I am sure we will want to come back before too long. I will recommend Travel Pinto with my friends and colleague. Best Wishes Randy, New York

EBC Trek with 3 high pass - We did Everest Base camp trek with three high passes in 18 days. The trek was challenging but strenuous, we climbed Renjo La Pass, Cho La Pass, and Kongma La Pass which were most scenic and we were overwhelmed. We flew to Lukla from manthali airport and trekked along Dudh koshi river to Namche Bazar. We followed beautiful valleys, monasteries having seen Gokyo Ri, Kalapathhar, Everest Base Camp and Himalayas Cho Oyu, Makalu , Lhotse , Nuptse , Ama Dablam and the Everest. We had great experience of Everest with panoramic viewpoints of Gokyo Ri, Kala Pathhar and Chukkung Ri. Tengboche monasteries and Khumjung monasteries exploration helped us have unique sense of tradition and culture. Our guides was very informative, friendly, looked funny but had great sense of humour. We had good communication and fun throughout the trip. We had a great time in Nepal and we thank Travel Pinto for arrangement and support throughout the trip.
