Thamel - Share your flight details with us, and an NNT airport representative will greet you at Tribhuwan International Airport. They will transfer you to your hotel in a private vehicle. In the evening, you can explore Thamel and relax at the hotel.

Trek Permit Preparation Day (Sightseeing Tour Optional) (1400m.|4593ft.)

Kathmandu - The team management will meet you at around 9 am to collect your original passport for permit preparation. At 5 pm, the team manager will return your passport at our office and introduce you to your trekking guide. The guide will check your trekking gear and suggest any additional items you may need, which can be purchased or rented from shops in Thamel.

Optional: You can take a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites in the afternoon.

Morning Flight to Bhadrapur, then Drive to Taplejung (1820m.|5971ft., 8 hrs drive)

Taplejung - We will take a 45-50 minute domestic flight from Kathmandu (TIA) to Bhadrapur (Chandragadhi Airport). From there, we will drive through Kanyam via the Mechi Highway, enjoying views of tea plantations, to reach Taplejung, the starting point of the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek.

Drive from Taplejung to Sekathum (1650m.|5413ft., 39km.|24.23miles., 6 hrs drive)

Kanchenjunga - After breakfast, we will take a local jeep to Sekathum. While most trekkers walk this route, our itinerary allows us to reach Sekathum two days earlier by utilizing local services. The drive passes through Mitlung, Chirwa, Thapethok, Lelep, and other villages along the Tamor Nadi. We will also pass the Kanchenjunga National Park entry point for permit checks.

Sekathum to Amjilosa (2498m.|8195ft., 9km.|5.59miles., 5 - 6 hrs trek)

Amjilosa to Gyabla (2725m.|8940ft., 8km.|4.97miles, 4 - 5 hrs trek)

Gyabla to Ghunsa (3415m.|11204ft., 11km.|6.83miles., 5 hrs trek)

Ghunsa to Khambachen (4145m.|13599ft., 11km.|6.83miles., 5 - 6 hrs trek)

Acclimatization and Rest Day in Khambachen

Khambachen to Lhonak (4792m.|15721ft., 10 km.|6.21miles., 4 - 5 hrs trek)

Hike to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp (Pang Pema) (5143m.|16873ft.) and return to Lhonak (9km.|5.59miles., 6-7 hrs trek)

Kanchenjunga - We will hike to the north base camp of Mt. Kanchenjunga, known as Pang Pema. The trail follows moraines, leading to the base camp adorned with prayer flags and offering stunning views of the third-highest peak, Kanchenjunga. We will return to Lhonak for the night.

Lhonak to Ghunsa (3415m.|11204ft., 21km.|13miles., 7-8 hrs trek)

Trek to Sele Le Base Camp (4240m.|13910ft., 6km.|3.72miles., 5-6 hrs trek)

Trek from Sele Le Base Camp to Tseram (3868m.|12690ft., 9km.| 5.59 miles., 6-7 hrs trek)

Kanchenjunga - From Sele Le Pass, we will ascend to high-altitude passes, including Sinion La (4440m.|2758ft.), Mirgin La (4480m.|2783ft.), and Sinelapche Bhanjyang (4645m.|2886ft.). The ascent offers panoramic views of Mt. Jannu, Everest, Makalu, Baruntse, Chamlang, and Kanchenjunga. We will then descend to Tseram for an overnight stay.

Trek from Tseram to Yalung South Base Camp Viewpoint (4740m.|15551ft.) and back to Tseram (14km.|8.6km) 7-8 hrs trek)

Trek from Tseram to Tortong (2980m.|9776ft., 13km.|8miles., 6-7 hrs trek)

Kanchenjunga - The trek offers serene views of snow-capped mountains and rhododendron forests. We will trek downhill, passing through Simbuwa Khola, and enjoy enchanting Himalayan views before reaching Tortong for the night.

Trek from Tortong to Yamphudin (1692m.|3910ft., 9km.|5.59ft., 6-7 hrs trek)

Yamphudin to Kanyam (1210m.|3969ft., 8 hrs drive)

Drive from Kanyam to Bhadrapur and late afternoon flight back to Kathmandu (1400m.|4593ft.)

The Kanchenjunga circuit takes you on a journey through some of Nepal’s most varied landscapes, including crystal clear rivers, dense jungle woodland, unspoiled Nepali villages, and some of the most epic mountain scenery seen anywhere in the mighty Himalayas. During the trek you visit both the North and South Base Camp, giving you multiple-angle views of one of the tallest mountains on Earth. As the trail is newly established compared to the other major trekking routes in Nepal, the villages along the way are yet to develop and reach the potential to accommodate many tourists. This means that for the trekkers, even during peak season, the trail will be less crowded and quieter than other trekking trails.
