We will begin our food tour at the old market of Indrachowk, moving on to the Kathmandu Durbar Square area that is ever so rich in culture.

Navigating the street food culture of Kathmandu can be quite an adventure for most and all that is taken care of on this tour ! Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Kathmandu with a lovely evening where you will explore the local Nepali cuisine with me at places most loved by locals. Tingle your taste buds with Nepali flavors at hole in the wall eateries and experience the real taste that locals eat regularly.
We will begin our food tour at the old market of Indrachowk, moving on to the Kathmandu Durbar Square area that is ever so rich in culture.
One thing to note is that 3 items on the tour will be Indian snacks as they’re widely consumed and loved by locals here.
After hosting food tours by myself for a while, I have now started working with the young people of the city! Every guide in my tour is well trained, a local of the city and of course a food enthusiast ! It will be either me or one of my team members taking you around for the tour.

Local Cuisine Deep Dive - A very thoughtfully conceived tour which leads into hidden alleyways, to food stands without any signs, where you habe wondrous concoctions made from animal innards as well as more convenionally palatable food. Many cultural insights to be gained, highly recommended!

Local treats at Kathmandu’s hidden gems! - Great local tour of Kathmandu’s hidden gems. A mix of traditional Nepali & Indian foods and snacks — we really enjoyed ALL of the things we tried, and the explanations provided. Definitely a very local experience, and places we wouldn’t have ever found ourselves. Fahid was great!

Good cultural experience. - My guide took me to several street eateries and a small restaurant. I enjoyed tasting all the different foods of Nepalese and Indian origin, most were very tasty. Fahid spoke English well and gave information about the ingredients. He provided me with bottled water and tissues for hand wiping. I asked for the names of all the foods to be sent to me and he did. I encourage the company to provide guests with a sheet giving the name and description of the foods tasted on the tour or to email them that information.

Loved it - Amazing tour! Shazia is super friendly, charismatic and considerate of any dietary requirements you may have. It was fun to take part in the tour as a group and we got chatting to lots of amazing people from all parts of the world. All of the places we visited would not of been found if it was not for shazia, hidden food tour indeed ☺️

Best food guide in Nepal! - Shazia was a wonderful host who has an in-depth knowledge of Nepalese food and the Kathmandu region. If you are new to the city and are looking for an authentic Nepalese experience, Shazia will make your stay all the more enjoyable. I would highly recommend her tour.

Show up hungry! - Back alleys and hidden passage ways to are completely packed with locals. That’s how you know it’s good. From papdi chaat (my fave), samosas, momos (of course!), goat lungs (texture like tofu), buffalo skewers, to name a few you will leave completely stuffed. Come hungry and open minded. You won’t regret it

Fantastic experience! - This was one of the first things we did in Kathmandu, and one of the things we think most highly of. It was a fun and interesting way to see the city and try the local food. On the tour we visited a number of hidden gems with fantastic food, that we would never have found without our guide Shazia. She was very sweet and would gladly tell about the culture and food. A little tip, don’t eat before, there are served a lot of food on the tour. We very highly recommend this! (No food poisoning).
