Swayambhunath - Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as “The Monkey Temple,” is perched atop Kathmandu. It features 365 steps leading to the summit, offering an exceptional view of the city. Along the way, you’ll find small shrines, souvenir shops, and freely roaming monkeys. Feel free to take photos, and some monkeys might even pose for you. At the top, you’ll encounter a large gold-plated thunderbolt (Vajra), one of the intriguing monuments there. Nearby is the large white dome with a cubical top, the Swayambhunath Stupa, which remained standing even after the 2015 earthquake that toppled many surrounding temples. You’ll also find numerous prayer wheels of various sizes around Swayambhunath.
Patan Durbar Square - Patan Durbar Square, located in the city of Lalitpur, is the courtyard of the old Malla palace, rich in Newari architecture and culture. The square is paved with red bricks and features three courtyards, which you’ll visit sequentially. Sundari Chowk is filled with statues and stone architecture. Mul Chowk, a guarded area due to past thefts, is next. Finally, Keshav Narayan Chowk houses the Durbar Square museum, showcasing artifacts related to ancient eastern civilization and artistic approaches.
Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar) - You’ll also visit the Golden Temple in the north. Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, known as the Golden Temple, is a 12th-century pagoda-style temple adorned with bronze statues and silver and gold decorations. Pashupatinath Temple - Pashupatinath Temple is one of Nepal’s largest temple complexes, housing over 500 temples and shrines. Covering 0.64 hectares, it is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva, with other deities’ temples surrounding the main temple. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the central pagoda-style temple boasts beautiful wood carvings and gold-covered roofs. A large bronze statue of a bull faces the main entrance. You’ll also see Sadhus performing daily rites and Hindu cremation ceremonies along the banks of the Holy Bagmati River.

It is a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal, both spiritually and for tourism. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stupa features a large dome with fluttering prayer flags and the scent of incense filling the air.
