Highlights

Swayambhunath - Swayambhunath, often referred to as the “Monkey Temple,” is a historic and sacred site situated atop a hill in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley. This ancient stupa is among the most venerated Buddhist shrines in the nation, holding great cultural and religious importance. The name “Swayambhunath” translates to “self-existent one,” signifying the belief that the stupa has been present since the beginning of time. Its prominent white dome, topped with a gilded spire, features the iconic painted eyes of the Buddha, representing his all-seeing wisdom and compassion. The surrounding area is dotted with numerous other shrines, temples, and prayer wheels, creating a peaceful and spiritual ambiance. The site provides sweeping views of the Kathmandu Valley and serves as a pilgrimage destination. The playful monkeys that inhabit the area add to the unique charm of Swayambhunath, making it a must-visit for those seeking spiritual and cultural experiences in Nepal.

Enriching Kathmandu tour with expert guide. - The tour of four UNESCO sites in Kathmandu was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to our guide, Suresh. We visited Durbar Square, Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. At each location, Suresh stood out for his deep knowledge of history, culture, and local traditions. In Durbar Square, he immersed us in the history of the Kathmandu kingdom, while at Swayambhunath, he explained Buddhist symbolism in great detail. At Pashupatinath, he handled sensitive topics with great respect, allowing us to understand the religious significance of the site. Finally, at Boudhanath, his ability to convey the spirituality of the place was impressive. Suresh was not only an informative guide but also attentive and passionate, making the tour truly enriching. I highly recommend this tour for those who want to thoroughly explore the cultural richness of Kathmandu.

Awesome Tour Experience! - The Kathmandu Private Day Tour with Relax Getaways was awesome! Sujan was our guide and he was very knowledgeable. He took us to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one day. Our driver Rudra was great and the electric vehicle was so comfortable. Sujan explained everything in detail and answered all our questions. The tour was well planned and we had enough time to explore each place. The electric vehicle was very good and eco-friendly. I highly recommend this tour for anyone in Kathmandu. Great job!
