Kathmandu Durbar Square showcases Nepalese art and architecture at its best. The architecture is typical of the Malla dynasty who ruled over Nepal from the 12th to 18th centuries.
- Swayambhunath - The Swayambhunath Temple has a compelling mix of both Hindu and Buddhist shrines and stupas, which popularly known amongst foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area.
- Pashupatinath Temple - Pashupatinath Temple is situated on the banks of river Bagmati and is one of the main temples of Lord Shiva. The temple area is full of other smaller temples of numerous Hindu deities, which gives the whole place an ambiance of a sacred paradise.
- Boudhanath Stupa - The Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in South Asia, which built on the ancient trade route to Tibet. Besides the main stupa, which evolved in a Nepali Buddhist style, there are over fifty Tibetan monasteries around the area formed by Tibetan merchants and the massive influx of Tibetan refugees over the years. Here, you not only get to appreciate the spectacular art and architecture of ancient Nepal but that of neighboring Tibet as well.

After breakfast, we leave the hotel for a full-day tour of Kathmandu, known as the “city of glory.” Our first stop is Durbar (Palace) Square, the heart of religious and cultural life, brimming with ancient temples and historical significance, showcasing magnificent Newari architecture. Highlights include the Taleju Temple and Kumari Ghar, the residence of the Living Goddess. Next, we visit Swoyambhunath Stupa, reputed to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas globally, perched high on a hill with a panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley. We then head to Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This extensive temple complex is located along the holy Bagmati River. While only Hindus can enter the temple courtyard, tourists can view the temple from the eastern side of the river. Our final stop is Boudhanath, a Buddhist Stupa considered one of the largest in the world.
