EBC Trek with Himalayan Trekking & Tours - We had an incredible experience during our EBC trek in early 2025 with the Himalayan Trekking & Tours team! From start to finish, everything was so well organized — the itinerary was clear, the logistics seamless, and the communication spot on. What really stood out was how informative and caring the team was throughout the trek. Mr. Surya, Babu, our guide and Chiring, our porter were very supportive during the entire 11 days of our trek! Last minute changes to the itinerary were handled very well when one of our team members fell sick during the descent. The team were not only knowledgeable about the terrain, culture, and safety measures, but also genuinely attentive to each trekker’s needs. It felt like traveling with experienced friends who had your back the whole way. Highly recommend working with Himalayan Trekking to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable trekking adventure!

Extraordinary Experience, Extraordinary People!! - The EBC tour and Kalapathar trek was incredible. Our guide Keshab was extraordinary, he was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate about the culture and just a fantastic character. The tour company was able to accomodate my friends not being able to complete the journey and working towards meeting our own timelines. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks for such an amazing experience. Going to do the Annapurna trek next with Keshab and Himalayan Trekking.

EBC - We did EBC Iin October 2024. Excellent itinerary which was bespoke to our needs. Babu was our guide, who was absolutely excellent in every thing. He looked after us very well, especially when two of my friends developed mountain sickness, one of them had AMS. Us completing the trek safely and comfortably was the company’s responsibility which was undertaken vey well throughout the trek.Babu had a lot of patience and would let us stop and take photographs so very often. So gave us the time and space to enjoy the journey instead of being rushed. I would like to add that on the last day all flights and helicopter transportation was cancelled to bad weather. Surya arranged helicopter and 5/6 were flown down the same day and sixth member the following day at 6:30 am. This is in context when around 2500 trekkers were stuck in lukla. I would highly recommend this company. I am certainly using it for Ama Dablam in 2026.

Perfect - We just completed EBC with Himalayan Trekking and it was perfect. There were plenty of obstacles in the form of weather and cancelled flights but Suriya and his team navigated all of it efficiently. His local contacts and hard work was to our benefit, We felt safe, the abomination was excellent and we had a good choice of food.

Well organised by committed professionals ..Hats off to The Organiser - Surya, The Guide - Prakash and the Portars - With 60 fast approaching, I knew I had one last chance to chase that elusive feeling of standing in Everest’s shadow. If I couldn’t summit its peak, I could at least touch its soul. Despite the warnings, a group of high school friends, including my brother, a filmmaker who shared my passion for adventure. Together, we set our sights on the Everest Base Camp (EBC), a journey both physically grueling and emotionally symbolic.

Fantastic Trek - My solo adventure in Nepal was fantastic, and Ram, my guide, played a huge part in making it so enjoyable! Even though I was traveling alone, I felt safe and had a great time. With Ram's help and that of the porter, I managed to reach the top without any issues. I'm really thankful for their arrangements and for helping to make my trip unforgettable!

A Memorable Everest Base Camp Trek — Comfort, Adventure, and a Few Lessons Learned - Choosing a reliable trekking company in Nepal is not easy, given how many options there are. I ultimately selected Himalayan Trekking and Tours because of their fast, clear, and professional communication before booking. In most cases, my inquiries were answered within the same day, with straightforward and helpful explanations. Communication was mainly via email, but WhatsApp was also available when needed. The owner, Surya, is a sincere and trustworthy person, and I felt comfortable placing the entire trip in his hands. My guide, Babu, is a Nepali guide with over 20 years of experience in the Himalayas. He was consistently attentive, kind, and professional, and his experience clearly showed throughout the trek. The main strength of the tour was the balance between comfort (helicopter transfers and good-quality lodges) and an authentic Everest Base Camp trekking experience. The itinerary allowed me to enjoy the mountains fully while still having enough time to rest and recover, which I greatly appreciated. There were, however, a couple of areas where the experience could be improved. Toward the end of the trip, the assessment of deteriorating weather conditions felt slightly optimistic. As worsening weather was already expected, I believe safety and overall scheduling could have been better prioritized by offering alternatives such as an earlier return flight. In addition, during the latter half of the trek, communication relied almost entirely on lodge-based STARLINK Wi-Fi. I suggested that carrying a satellite phone would further enhance safety and reliability. In terms of cost, many private treks in Nepal are priced around USD 2,000–3,000. This tour was more expensive due to helicopter transfers and upgraded lodges. While it is not inexpensive, I felt the pricing was reasonable given the level of comfort and logistics provided. The trek itself began with a helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (approx. 2,860m), followed by about a week of hiking roughly 70 km to Everest Base Camp (5,364m). The route passes through valleys surrounded by 7,000–8,000m-class peaks. Although the trek is not technically difficult, the primary challenge is clearly acclimatization to high altitude. I was fortunate to tolerate altitude relatively well. Up to around 4,700m, I felt almost normal. Above that, I experienced mild headaches, which resolved after resting overnight. Altitude sickness varies greatly from person to person, so a cautious pace and proper acclimatization are essential. Even at 5,200m, my resting SpO₂ was around 94%, with a heart rate in the low 90s. During exertion, oxygen saturation occasionally dropped into the 70% range, but it did not prevent me from continuing. I took Diamox as a preventive measure and maintained a slow, steady pace throughout the trek. After reaching Everest Base Camp, the plan was to stay one night in Gorak Shep and return to Kathmandu by helicopter the following day. However, heavy snowfall caused by the monsoon led to the cancellation of all flights. As a result, we were delayed at the lodge for two days and eventually descended through snow, followed by a 13-hour jeep journey on rough, unpaved roads. It was an extremely demanding return, but also an experience I will never forget. Overall, despite some unexpected challenges, I genuinely feel that joining this tour was the right decision. If time and budget allow in the future, I would be very interested in trekking with this company again, perhaps to Kanchenjunga or Annapurna.
