Great experience during 19-day Manaslu trek with side trips! - Karna Rana was very professional during the booking and preparation. The guide Sabut and his cousin porter Ganesh were very kind, easygoing and knowledgeable. They were friendly with hotel owners and I felt included when eating with them in the kitchen. Although the mountains were often cloudy in the afternoons, we had good views during mornings and only two days of light rain among the 19 days of the trek. I really enjoyed the side trips to Serang Gompa, Kal Tal, Hinang Gompa and Pungyen Gompa. I had heard of Milarepa caves in Samagaon, and Sabut, with the help of local villagers, was able to find them. Very recommended guide, porter and trekking agency!

The Best trekkking experience of my life - I would highly recommend Nepal Mother House Treks & Expedition. Our Manaslu circuit trip was handled amazingly from the start to finish. They took great care of us making sure we arrived to and forth Kathmandu and the airport. The trip itself was managed by an excellent guide who kept us informed about what we would expect along the journey and made sure we were fed, happy, and comfortable along the whole journey. This trek would have been daunting without him. We also hired some porters to help us carry extra luggage along the way: Their upbeat nature and helpful attitude never stopped. They made sure we were comfortable as much as they could whilst carrying most of our weight. If you want to do a trek with an experienced group of hard-working, friendly and hospitable team then you must choose Nepal Mother House Treks & Expedition. I promise on the mountain you will be thankful to have such a fantastic team with you!

Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek - The communication with the office was always smooth and everything was well organized. I really enjoyed my trek of the Manaslu circuit and Tsum valley with Pasang. He is an excellent mountain guide, funny, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. There was also so much wildlife he spotted which I would have never seen without him. During the trek, he proposed to adapt the route according to the weather, which was not always the best. This turned out to be exactly right and a sensible choice. In addition, he is a great ambassador for Nepali culture and explained so much about the different cultures, languages, foods and traditions we encountered on our way. Here it helped that he speaks so many local languages, that allowed him to translate between the locals (not always speaking Nepali) and me. All the best and thank you so much, Pasang!!

Great Himalayan adventure - Absolutely fantastic from start to finish: crazy bumpy ride in jeep, subtropical vegetation in the lower parts, bath in ice cold stream, waterfalls, hanging bridges, teahouses, snow covered peaks, a hint of the altitude sickness, just enough to tell you you're halfway between the sea level and the 8000ers' summits, herds of yaks, a match of football with Nepali porters on the stone courtyard of the school in Shyala, stars and sunrise during ascent to the Larke Pass. And Bom - a great guide. Bom, thank you, it was a great trek. Looking forward to walking with you again.

Family trip around Manaslu circuit - Actually, we planned the Manaslu circuit trek right before the Covid outbreak in 2020, and had to cancel back then. After two years, as the entry policies in Nepal relaxed, we started looking for a tour operator to organize our journey. Since we were travelling during school holidays of our son (2 weeks in total), we had limited amount of time and wanted to find a company, which could take over all the paperwork on one hand, and provide us an intensive itinerary on the other. Nepal Mother House Treks fulfilled both demands, remaining very competitive in price, accepting credit card for a prepayment to guarantee the booking. We were met at the airport arrival gate, accompanied and supported throughout our stay in Kathmandu, and brought to the airport departure gate. And of course, the mountain trekking became an unforgettable experience. For those who wants to experience natural beauty and traditional lifestyle of mountain inhabitants of Nepal, surrounded by Tibetan Buddhism sights, rivers and springs, jungle flowers and highest mountains on our planet, the Manaslu circuit should be a perfect fit. Our guide Jayaram planned our route at its best, was always ready to accommodate for any ad-hoc changes, and provided us with great historical and cultural background during our trip.

Manaslu Trek -- 10 days with Nepal Mother House -- AMAZING EXPERIENCE! - My husband and I spent 10 days trekking around the Manaslu circuit from the end of September to early October through the guidance / outfitting of Nepal Mother House. It was amazing. Here are a few thoughts about the guiding company (Nepal Mother House), the Trek (Manaslu), time of year, and suggestions that we have. Nepal Mother House -- Would 100% recommend this company to other travelers headed to Nepal. Before arrival, we had communicated a lot with Karna, as he fielded our many questions and helped sort out our specific requests. Karna is responsive over email and Skype, and did his best to answer any questions that we had. Because of cultural differences and a few language barriers (he speaks great English, but we found it occasionally hard / some lost in translation over Skype!), we arrived in Kathmandu a bit skeptical and holding our breath as to what we had signed up for. Karna was there waiting for us the minute we stepped outside, staying up past midnight to take us to the hotel (which is great --- trust wherever he puts you up!! We were at the International Guest house which we ended up staying at longer after the trek). Because Nepal Mother House is a smallish organization, they are so personal. On our first full day in Kathmandu, karna walked to our hotel to pick us up, then walked us back to his office where the 10 or so porters and guides had all gathered for a daily check in. It was fun to meet them all, and began the personal experience with our guides. Overall, I'd recommend and trust Nepal Mother house on another expedition, and appreciated that it was VERY well priced (maybe even too cheap, we know that we were not ripped off at all upon calculating things). Manaslu Circuit -- Highly recommend. Next to Annapurna, but a PERCENTAGE of the foot traffic. The locals at the tea houses are authentic and excited, not over westernized, no hiking next to roads, very remote, beautiful, and overall a great first Nepalese trek. Because of some timing constraints, we adjusted the plan to be a 10-11 day trek, rather than the original proposed 15+ days. As two in shape but fairly normal people, we found the "fast" track to be completely doable. I would not have wanted to go slower, as we would have been sitting at tea houses for the majority of the day rather than hiking. Typically we hiked for 5-7 hours --- which is very doable seeing as there was nothing else to do other than drink tea, look at the scenery, eat, and sleep. Time of Year -- We started the trek in mid / late September, and wish that we could have started 2 weeks later. The rainy season is no joke. On the trek, we had 2 or 3 days of rain that we had to push through -- not ideal, but not terrible. The benefit of going early was that there were VERY FEW other hikers, and really made the whole experience feel authentic and unique. There was always a bed available and many perks like getting to sit in the kitchen with the nepalese to stay warm and talk at night. If we did it again, we'd likely go in December, after the rush of hikers but in the colder season. A few suggestions -- we opted for the "private transport" from Kathmandu to the trail head, somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-400 totally round trip. This felt like a lot at first but was 100% worth it. On the way home, the road was jammed and it took us 17 hours to travel what should have taken a few. We were soooo thankful to be in our car (with the driver, guide, and porter). Public bus may be "fun" and a little more cultural, but I'd opt to get some extra culture in elsewhere and take the private transportation option. If you can swing it, also bring your own sleeping bag, as those were rented to us and fine but definitely not the cleanest. We used water purification tablets the whole time and those worked great. Our guide was Sabut and porter was Isor -- they did a great job. Thanks guys!! Hope to be back some day soon and missing Dahl Bat and Rakki!

Manaslu Circuit with Side Trips - My wife and I recently completed a 23 day trek around Manaslu with Nepal Mother House Treks and were very pleased with the overall experience. Karna, our trekking agent, was exceptional in organizing and tailoring the trek to our specific needs given we are an older couple and wanted to ensure we had amble time to acclimatize and take in the additional side trips the circuit had to offer. Our guide and porters were extremely friendly and always made sure our safety and comfort were a top priority. With Nepal Mother House you get a very competitive price but what stood out for us, was an experience that allows you to go off the beaten path and be immersed in the real culture.
