Highlights

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport. (1334m)

Thamel - Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll land at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A representative from Himalayan Adventure Treks & Tours will greet you and escort you to your hotel. In the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other participants and trek members. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Durbar Square - After breakfast, we’ll embark on a city tour of Kathmandu, which includes visits to four UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley.

Pashupatinath: This temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus worldwide. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the place where bodies are cremated on the banks of the Bagmati River.

Boudhanath Stupa: One of the largest stupas in Asia, it is a significant site for Buddhist pilgrims and a popular tourist destination in the valley. It is also known for its over 50 Tibetan gompas or monasteries.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: This area contains the palaces of the ancient kings who once ruled the Kathmandu Kingdom.

Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple): Located in the heart of the valley, this is another major tourist attraction and important site for Buddhist pilgrims. It is also known as the Monkey Temple among tourists.

Drive from Kathmandu to Machakhole (869m) 8-9 hours. (B/L/D)

Manaslu - After breakfast, we’ll drive by private jeep to Machakhola, a journey that takes about 8-9 hours. Along the way, we’ll enjoy the stunning landscape, including the Trishuli River, Maryasangadi River, Ganesh Himal ranges, and typical Nepali villages and their lifestyles. Upon reaching Machakhola, we’ll explore the local area and rest at teahouses.

Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1340m) 7-8 hours. (B/L/D)

Manaslu - The next morning, after taking in the breathtaking view of Northeast Ganesh Himal, we’ll continue our trek to Jagat. The trail gradually ascends to Khorlabesi, offering more spectacular views of Ganesh Himal. At Yaru Phat, you’ll witness an impressive waterfall. The trek continues on a rock and stone-paved path. Just before reaching Jagat, you’ll cross a bridge made of rock. From Jagat, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of Sringi Himal.

Trek from Jagat to Deng (1860m) 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630m) 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

Mount Manaslu - The trail from Deng to Ghap features a mix of uphill, downhill, and easy trekking paths. From Deng, you’ll first reach Ghap, then trek through dense pine and rhododendron forests to arrive at Namrung for the night. The mesmerizing views of the snow-capped Shringi Himal and Ganesh Himal will make today’s journey unforgettable.

Trek from Lho to Samagaon (3520m) 4-5 Hours. (B/L/D)

Acclimatization day at Sama Gaon (3520m). (B/L/D)

Mount Manaslu - Today is a rest day with no long trek, allowing you to conserve energy for the Manaslu Circuit. An extra day in Sama Goan (3520m) is always beneficial. You can either hike up to Manaslu Base Camp (4400m) or visit the beautiful Birendra Tal. In your free time, you can relax at the camp.

Trek from Sama Gaon to Samdo (3875m) 4-5 hours. (B/L/D)

Manaslu - Today, you’ll take a steep uphill trail to Kyonggma Kharka, where you’ll see stone huts and long Mani walls. Samdo will greet you with stunning views of Naike and Pangboche peaks. You can also explore the Taka Chouling Gompa in Samdo.

Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala (Larkya Phedi) (4460m) 4-5 Hours. (B/L/D)

Manaslu - After breakfast in Samdo, you’ll pass a seasonal Tibetan market called Larke Bazaar and descend to the Budi Gandaki River. Cross the wooden bridge and begin walking upward, crossing two streams while witnessing the Larkya Glacier. You’ll head around the valley of the Salka Khola and climb up again to Dharamsala, also known as Larke Phedi. Along the route, you’ll see many traditional monasteries.

Trek from Dharmasala to Bimthang (3590m) via Larkya La pass (5160m) 8-9 hours. (B/L/D)

Manaslu - Today, we’ll tackle a challenging trekking route through a moraine path. You’ll see the Larkya Glacier along the way. The magnificent views of Kanguru, Annapurna II, Himlung Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kang, Larkya Peak, Namjung Himal, and Ranta Chuli will make today’s journey spectacular. After crossing the Larkya La pass, the trail descends steeply through grassy moraine. Be cautious as this area is prone to rockfalls.

Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani (1963m) 6-7 hours. (B/L/D)

Mount Manaslu - Today, we’ll descend to Hampuk, a rock shelter cave, and then to Yak Kharka. You’ll trek through Gho, a Gurung village, and continue to Tilije before finally reaching Dharapani.

Thamel - A representative from Himalayan Adventure Treks and Tours will take you to the airport about 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home, you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal.

The primary allure of this trek are the stunning views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m) and the Manaslu Conservation Area.

The Manaslu Trek spans over 17 days, kicking off from Kathmandu. Day one is dedicated to exploring the historical city of Kathmandu and making preparations for the trek, including acquiring the necessary permits for entering the Manaslu Conservation Area. The journey officially starts with a drive to Soti Khola, followed by a trek heading north towards Bihi, with a layover at Philim. The route then diverts westward, passing the Lho, Sho, and Sama Gaon villages, followed by a visit to the Manaslu Base Camp and Birendra Lake. The final leg involves crossing the Larkya La Pass (5160m) and descending along the Marshyangdi River.
