Pashupatinath Temple - On the bank of the Bagmati River, there are many religious points of interest, but the temple of Lord Pashupatinath is THE place to see. considered the holiest pilgrimage site in all of Nepal, this temple attracts thousands of visitors every year. Located just a short 5 kilometers from Kathmandu, it is thought to be one of Lord Shiva’s homes and the many shrines on location are dedicated to him. Be sure to check out the wooded ravine, which is revered for its spiritual importance.

Swayambhunath - A religious site that has remained unchanged for over 700 years, Syambhunath is one of the most important Buddhist locations in Nepal, if not the world. With a nickname of the “Monkey Temple,” you’ll spy sacred monkeys that still live in various parts of the temple. For the best experience, walk around the stupa in a clockwise direction. As you walk, wheels fixed to the balustrade will be set in motion.

Patan (Lalitpur) - Just across the Bagmati River from Kathmandu is Patan (also known as Lalitpur) - the second-largest town in the valley. A renowned arts and architecture city, you’ll be astonished by the ornate buildings, metal statues, and carvings of wood and stone that are found throughout Patan. In addition, the quality of the temples and monasteries available to visit is astounding and you’ll want to pay close attention to the Thangkas - vibrant, colorful paintings.

Kathmandu Durbar Square - Listed as a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site, Kathmandu Durbar Square is a cluster of ancient temples, palaces, courtyards, and streets that date back to the 12th and 18th centuries. Featuring impressive architecture, heritage, and nobility, the square is well-known as the true social and religious focal point of Kathmandu.

Unwind in Unique Pokhara.

Pokhara - Pokhara is well-known as the most serene city in Nepal and you’ll see why after a quick morning trip from Kathmandu to our next stop. It is a 6 hours drive from Kathmandu with amazing views along the way . Fully sated, you’ll check in to our partnered hotel in Pokhara for a quick rest before seeing what Pokhara has to offer. From renting a paddle boat to visiting the floating markets to simply hanging out at one of the lakeside restaurants, we’re sure it won’t take long to adjust to the peaceful Pokhara rhythm.

Phewa Tal (Fewa Lake) - Phewa Lake, Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake is a freshwater lake in Nepal located in the south of the Pokhara Valley. Located at an altitude of 742 m (2,434 ft), it is the second largest lake in Nepal. The lake is classified as semi-natural freshwater lake, as it is stream-fed but a dam regulates the water reserve. The reflections of mount Machhapuchhre and other mountain peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on its clean water leave everybody spellbound. Situated on an island in the lake, Barahi Temple is also popular among the tourists.

Savor a Sarangkot sunrise

Sarangkot - Thought by many to be the best vantage point in Nepal, Sarangkot will deliverer a spectacular panoramic view of the Annapurna range. From here, you’ll be able to see snowcapped peaks, the crystal-blue waters of Phewa Lake, pristine rural hamlets, and the most glorious sunrise or sunset you’ve ever experienced. Sarangkot packs a full touristic punch and is less than 10 kilometers from Pokhara, making it a definite must-see.

Devi’s Fall - Just a couple kilometers from central Pokhara, you can arrive to one of the most-visited sights of the region. Davids Falls, known locally as Patala Chhango, is a breathtaking waterfall that empties into a deep and narrow canal. Named after a tourist that fell and was never found, the beauty of Davids Falls simply cannot be denied.

Mahendra Cave - The famed “House of Bats,” Mahendra Cave is not only home to the nocturnal animals that hang on the cave’s ceiling but also to amazing rock formations, including exotic stalactites and stalagmites. Looking above and below, interesting sights will be around every turn and a complete development of the cave ensures that light is always present. Excellent accessibility and guided paths make this a great choice for cave exploration.

Back to Basics in Chitwan

Chitwan National Park - A leisurely breakfast will start the day then it’s off to the Chitwan district, a place where time has seemingly stood still. After checking into our immaculate hotel, we’ll head straight to Tharu village and bear witness to the age-old techniques of building huts out of mud and planting rice paddies by hand. The afternoon will bring a guided safari in Chitwan National Park to see rhinos, leopards, crocodiles, and more and you’ll be treated to a traditional dance performance in the evening. For many, the strong roots of Tharu and Chitwan are one of the highlights of our tour and a reason to come back to Nepal.

Observe Awe-Inspiring Nature

Chitwan National Park - If Day 4 in Chitwan was about seeing, then Day 5 is about doing. With breakfast under our belts, we’ll hit the river, taking a canoe ride to see the region from a different angle. Checking in with the Sauhara Elephant Breeding Centre is next, where you can expect an up close and personal visit with both massive adult and clumsy baby elephants. Our trail will again take us through Chitwan National Park in an area where monkey sightings are very likely as well as peacocks and other exotic birds.

Nearing the end in Nagarkot

Nagarkot - For the last full day of your Naturally Nepal tour, the first item on the agenda will be to watch a group of elephants taking a playful bath and a short nap once we’ve had a flavorful breakfast. Our elephant ride will head through the jungle where you’ll be able to experience Chitwan’s impressive nature from an insider’s perspective. Day 7 will also see us travel to Nagarkot for a relaxing and peaceful finish to the trip. With towering Mount Everest in view, you’ll understand why many consider Nagarkot to be the most scenic point in the country.

Say Farewell to Nepal (for now)

Kathmandu - After breakfast, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your flight back home. While the week may have seemed to fly by, your memories with Snowyoda will last a lifetime.
