The first half of the day is abseiling, starting with a 5-metre-high cliff and building up to 30-metre-high cliffs during the morning.
After a gourmet lunch it’s a scenic 20-minute walk to the start of the canyon. Wade into the creek that descends the narrow, slot-like canyon and within a few seconds you are jumping into a rock pool, the first of several jumps and swims (don’t worry, we provide wetsuits!). This canyon is an exciting affair with water jumps, exhilarating swims, waterslides and fantastic scenery.
The final descent out of the canyon is one of the best waterfall abseils in the mountains. Clip into the rope, step back and follow the 30-metre waterfall down to the deep rock pool below. This is not just a brilliant waterfall abseil but also a fantastic photo opportunity.

5 star experience! - We were lucky enough to be the only ones booked on the day (08th September), and Brian was a great guide and helped us have a great time through the day. We came all the way from Sydney for this activity alone, and it was very well worth the travel. (Side Note: anyone wanting to do this as day activity, is very doable. Uber one way, train on the way back).
Abseiling the first half of the day, followed by a lunch break (with plenty options for vegetarian/vegan) and then Canyoning. Will be back again for sure!

So much fun!!! - So much fun!!! Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. The canyon was beautiful and full of fun jumps it slides. The Waterfall was stunning and amazing to abseil down. I felt well prepared for it after the mornings abseiling (also stunning). Plus our guide had us in a back up rope which he belayed so we were safe even if we were to make a mistake

Life changing experience - What an amazing adventure! We did the Empress Falls canyoning and abseiling with a wonderful group.
Started out the morning abseiling down some beautiful spots to help us feel comfortable and learn the ropes. Then enjoyed an incredibly delicious lunch before heading into the canyon. The trek through the canyon was both challenging (and cold) but very rewarding. Most of our group had their own moment where they struggled but our wonderful guide Zol was patient and kind and helped us overcome our fears. Ending with possibly the least graceful descent down the waterfall for me and a textbook perfect descent from my partner then a nice steep hike back out.
To say I was pushed out of my comfort zone is an understatement but it was such an incredible experience.
I cannot thank Zol enough for his amazing guidance making us feel safe and helping us navigate each part of the day.
I recommend High and Wild to anyone looking for an adventure and challenge!

Canyoning and abseiling fun - We had a super fun day with Ben, abseiling in the morning and canyoning in the afternoon. Small group, individual attention and assistance, catered for dietary needs at lunch. Activities felt safe but challenging.

Exhilarating trip through millions of years old canyon with the friendliest guide - Awesome trip. Really well organised, lovely, professional guides and just the most exhilarating experience. Highly recommend (and the lunch, just to top it off was delicious).

Do it!! - Would 100% recommend this day to anyone - it was one of the most beautiful sights and best days I’ve ever had! Our guide Brian was great at encouraging me when I felt scared without being forceful. I can’t wait to come back !

Crazy Adventures! - Quite the adventure! The guides, Brian and Ben, were really knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, and supportive. The level of fitness required was more than expected, the hike out of the canyon was really intense! I learned a lot about what I'm capable of as well as my limits. This is probably the most adventurous thing I'll ever do - it was crazy! So glad I took the leap and booked the trip.

Amazing Experience Canyoning and Abseiling! - This was an amazing experience and you will definitely not regret booking this trip! Our guide, Brian was great! He was a great guide and just an awesome human being in general! He gave us information about the wildlife around the canyon as well. Everyone on the trip was lovely! Abseiling down the 30 metre waterfall was definitely the highlight of the trip! The only bad thing was how short the trip was!

You have to experience this! - I called writhing an hour of the start time to see what was available. The guys quickly let me in to the abseiling and canyoning day trip and the raced to organise my lunch while I got there. Yes, the 30 meter waterfall was a highlight; however the local knowledge of the guide just made this the best day I’ve ever had in the mountains; And I’ve lived here for years. He knew every species of flora or fauna we passed which added the sweetest commentary to an already amazing day. So impressed!
