Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course, and beautiful parks give the place an air of nostalgia. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level, the air is cool and fresh—a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Nine Arches Bridge - Once you arrive in Ella, visit the Nine Arch Bridge. One of the highlights in the mountain village of Ella is the 30-meter high Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. Walking on the bridge is allowed and is a must-do activity in Sri Lanka. The stone train bridge, built by the British with its nine beautiful arches, is located between Ella and Demodara station. The train ride through the highlands from Kandy to Ella is considered one of the most beautiful train rides in the world.
