Our journey to Katwoude was filled with anticipation, as my husband and I were eager to immerse ourselves in the creative world of ceramic painting. The idea of crafting our own unique souvenirs was enticing, and we envisioned a day filled with laughter, creativity, and perhaps a touch of romance. Upon arrival, however, we found ourselves momentarily adrift, as the workshop’s location was not immediately apparent. The lack of clear signage led us to a few puzzled locals before we finally discovered the charming Simonehoeve, where our artistic adventure awaited.

Despite the initial confusion, the quaint setting of the workshop quickly enveloped us in its warm embrace. The rustic charm of the Simonehoeve, with its traditional Dutch architecture and serene surroundings, set the perfect backdrop for a day of artistic exploration. We were presented with a delightful array of ceramic pieces to choose from, each one a blank canvas waiting to be transformed by our imaginations.

Settling into our creative space, we were given the choice to paint either two small ceramics or one larger piece. My husband and I opted for the latter, envisioning a shared masterpiece that would symbolize our journey together. The workshop provided us with the freedom to explore our artistic inclinations at our own pace. We were left to our own devices, a decision we appreciated as it allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the experience. Every so often, a friendly staff member would check in, ensuring we had everything we needed. We played our favorite music, letting the melodies guide our brushstrokes, and soon found ourselves lost in the rhythm of creation.
