Additional Information

We feel a Kauai dish should uniquely encapsulate our abundant island’s tastes and cultural mix! Our gastronomic tour promotes the variety of edibles that our sustainable food forest yields, a compilation of fabulous foods imported from all parts of the world to Hawai`i. Amongst these are coffee, pineapple, tree tomato, kava, mamak’i, heart of palm, papaya, bananas and many more! Crucially, these demonstrate a way to cultivate food in alignment with nature, planted systematically in a way that removes dependence on imported fertilizers and pesticides. The tour culminates with a communal dining experience, where we relish the rich array of food diversity while understanding Common Ground’s mission. Every aspect of our food, from cooking oil to seasonings, is 100% sourced from Island - because it really should be. Don’t hesitate to grab a beer or wine from the bar and unwind into a serene island evening within a stunning farm atmosphere.

Definitely Worth A Visit!! - The Farm Tour was an eye-opening learning experience. It takes about 50 minutes and the guide walks you through the fruit, vegetable and miscellaneous plantings, providing information on a very interesting and thought-provoking tour. We learned a lot. The meal after the tour was delicious and highlighted culiniary creativity. Very healthy and the fruit offerings for dessert were so sweet.

Food warriors and planet healer’s - I love what they are doing at common ground. Agroforestry is all about keeping the soil balanced. It’s simple yet genius at the same time. The farm was so splendid to see. There are so many unique varieties of fruiting plants and herbs. The dinner was amazing. The plate was so colorful and delicious. Even the picky eaters I was with ate every bite.Amazing vibes. I’m excited to see a show there in the coming weeks. These are my kind of people!

A Must Do Experience in Kauai! - Highly recommend taking the walk down to the stone dam ahead of your tour! It is beautiful and there is a place for you to take a little dip of you bring your bathing suit. The tour itself was lovely and super educational; I loved learning about the different plants that have been grown together and how they work in harmony with one another. The dinner was absolutely DELICIOUS as well!

Beautiful food and tour with small kids - Loved this experience! We went with a 4 year old and 18 month old. I’m really happy we did because they loved the open space on the tour and they tried all the food. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would go again with or without the children. Loved it!

Special place - This was such a wonderful experience. The setting is beautiful and we learned so much about the farm and their mission. And our meal was outstanding. Our tour guide was fantastic at drawing us in and teaching us about regenerative agriculture and Hawaii. I now want to explore regenerative farms close to home and am inspired to plant a garden!

Go! It's worth it. What they're doing for sustainable, local farming is amazing. - Wonderful experience! I'm excited for the restaurant in the future. Fresh, beautiful, local produce! Everything you eat is from Hawaii! It's a beautiful setting too. If you visiting, take the walk to the stone dam. It is a beautiful place worth the short walk.

Great experience, not geared towards young kids. - Fun experience to do if you’re interested in regenerative farming and true farm to table cooking. While I learned a lot, I can’t say I recommend this tour for families with small children. We were there with our 5 and 3 year old and the tour just didn’t have much for them besides seeing the chickens. I also would have liked to actually see more of the farm other than the small culinary garden area that we walked through. Having said that the information was all really great and the meal that followed was fantastic. The people were all super welcoming and accommodating and the setting is just super beautiful. Definitely recommend going with adults or maybe older teens.
