Review of day Trip from Kauai to Oahu: Pearl Harbor to Honolulu City - I recently took a day trip from Kauai to Oahu, and it was a whirlwind adventure packed with history, culture, and sightseeing. The trip was well-organized, ensuring that we maximized our short time on Oahu *Pearl Harbor**: Our first stop was Pearl Harbor, and it was a deeply moving experience. Visiting the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the USS Arizona Memorial provided a poignant reminder of the events of December 7, 1941. The exhibits were informative and well-curated, offering a comprehensive look at the history and significance of the attack. Standing above the sunken battleship and reading the names of those who lost their lives was a somber and reflective moment. The entire visit was both educational and emotional, giving me a profound appreciation for this pivotal moment in history. **Honolulu City Tour**: After Pearl Harbor, we embarked on a tour of Honolulu. We explored key landmarks such as the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States, and the King Kamehameha Statue, which stands as a symbol of Hawaiian heritage and pride. The tour also took us through the bustling downtown area, where we admired the blend of historic and modern architecture. Driving through vibrant neighborhoods, we got a sense of the city’s dynamic culture and lifestyle. **Overall Experience**: This day trip from Kauai to Oahu was an excellent way to experience some of Hawaii’s most significant historical and cultural sites in a short amount of time. Pearl Harbor was the highlight, offering a solemn and insightful look into American history, while the Honolulu city tour provided a taste of urban Hawaiian life and heritage. The trip was well-paced, informative, and left me with lasting memories.

After a great deal of... -
After a great deal of miscommunication the trip was fantastic. We were told to meet the rep at the airport at 6 am for our flight to Oahu. Another group of 4 arrived shortly before 7 am as that is the time they were told. By 7:20 no rep had arrived and I called Polynesian to find out where the rep was. We were told to just get our tickets and get on the plane and someone would meet us in Oahu. We got the tickets and went to the gate. Flight wasn't leaving until 8:30 am. At about 7:45 I received a call asking where I was and I informed the rep that I was at the gate. She informed me that one party from each group must come back out as she had something that we needed for our trip. Two of us left and met her and got stickers that we needed to wear to identify us. Now we had to go back through security. This might not have been a real big deal except it was 9/11 and security was very tight and slow. Our bus driver in Oahu was somewhat knowledgeable but very frustrating as he would start talking about one thing and then switch gears in mid sentence to another subject. When we arrived at the various sites he gave us multitudes of directions at warp speed leaving us a bit confused. All in all the whole experience was fabulous!

Our day trip to Oahu was very good... -
Our day trip to Oahu was very good for the most part. The rich history of this island is mind boggling. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. For anyone who wants to partake in this tour I have a few suggestions:
1. We were told that because regulations had changed at the Luhue airport, our guide was not able to come inside to find us. This put us behind on what was already a very rigid schedule.
2. Be very prompt when meeting your guide at the end of each stop. Our tour guide Ernie, chose to berate those who set our aforementioned schedule behind. Very unpleasant!
3. You are permitted a camera, phone, or wallet onto the military bases. You are not permitted to take purses or backpacks. You are also not permitted to keep these items on the bus so you will be asked to check them in before your tour of Pearl Harbor/Ford Island. Be sure to keep these items checked in when leaving for the Missouri and Arizona Memorial. Six of the members of our tour were not clear about this detail and upon returning to the bus with purse/backpack were publicly humiliated by Ernie. This put quite a damper on the remainder of the day!
4. Our tour began at 7:30 am with lunch scheduled at 2 pm. We ate lunch at 3 pm. This could be problematic for those who are diabetic or have other health related issues.

On the whole, this tour was good.
Aloha

Weather not so good on that day, but it... - Weather not so good on that day, but it really didn't matter. The guide was very informative, and we saw a lot of interesting sights. Downside was the early start from Kauai and the long wait for flights back. It made it a long day!

Oahu day trip - On the plus side, the guide, Ernie, was good, the weather was perfect, and Duke's Waikiki had great view and food. On the negative side, the Arizona memorial can't be stepped on right now because of structural issues with landing site, so you go out and come back on the boat without setting foot on the memorial itself. Also , the punch bowl won't allow tourists off the bus, so again you drive into and out of the cemetary without getting off the bus.
