Additional Information

Luau Kalamaku has been a welcoming hub for tourists in Kauai since 2007. Known as the only Hawaii luau presentation executed “in-the-round,” it ensures the stage is viewable from all angles. Experience the miraculous extraction of the pig from the customary imu (underground oven) along with the fun of a hula lesson. Visit the craft exhibition showcasting remarkable creations by local craftsmen on the extensive lawn. Relish a variety of delectables from the buffet, that offers local and well-known dishes, and sip a Mai Tai from the bar. The main performance elucidates the fascinating tale of the ancient Hawaiian lore of Kalamaku, ‘offspring of the new territory.’ With a combination of amusement, fright, allure, and fire, a fresh heritage is born, inheriting the priceless characteristics of their forefathers. The drama-based luau spectacle concludes with an outstanding fire dream, featuring fire poi balls and customary fire knife dancing.

Beautiful Hawaiian history and cultural experience. Talk story through song and dance. - Took the shuttle from Princeville Westin hotel. And they dropped us off at our hotel. All you can eat and drink so I definitely did not want to drive. We booked the train trip which was 45 minutes. Good history lesson on the property and Hawai’i sugarcane industry. Stopped and fed pigs, cattle, and horses. Which my son loved. Unfortunately because of heavy traffic coming from the north side of the island, we got a late start so we had no time to socialize before food was served. If I do this again, I might drive myself Limit my alcohol intake, and come early so I can tour the mansion do some rum tasting. Food was excellent. Had entertainment during dinner. Live Hawaiian music. Some dancing and then a brief intermission before the show started. Once the show starts, they stop serving alcohol. Excellent, great storyline, beautiful dancing very artistic singing that was excellent. Highly recommend.

Great Luau - Good drinks - wine, beer, mixed drinks, plus juice, cokes, and virgin drinks for the kids. Decent food. Great show - well put together and the live music was really impressive.

Great Story Telling Luau - This show was recommended to us by our friends. It is absolutely amazing! Beautiful story telling. The dancers are wonderful. The food was honestly just ok but the show is well worth the price of admission.

Fantastic luau and show - Luau was great , food was good for a Buffett. Not a huge fan of buffets but the food was good. Staff were very attentive and took care of guests. We also did the train ride which was very interesting. Did learn that it takes two years to grow pineapples which I didn’t know for some reason. On the train ride you see you the plantation ( I think that is what they call it or ranch) and all the plants and animals they grow and raise. You do stop to feed the pigs, horses and donkeys. More for families than couples. There were a few local vendors selling items outside the main pavilion didn’t get see many of them since we did the train ride. So check them out , looked like they had a lot of great items. The entertainment was fantastic great show lots of history and very well done with the dance and storytelling. We would definitely go see this again minus the train ride.

Don’t waste your money. Go to Smith’s. - After spending money for ‘gold’ service I am completely disappointed. Our seating was in the hot sun, no fans, no water on the the table. Tried to talk to staff several times and were either ignored with ‘the sun will go down soon’ or ‘that’s the way it is. When asked to change seats we were told all seats were reserved. ???? Personally I think we should receive a refund! The meat was excellent. The rest of the food mediocre My husband added the dance was like a Broadway production of a luau. For example I doubt Polynesian men wore long pants and Fedora’s. We went to Smith’s last time and it way waaaaay better. Don’t waste your $ here.
