Tastes of Kauai - This was the perfect way to spend a lovely morning (4 hours) in Kauai. Beautiful gardens exotic trees, wonderful fruit and honey to try. Paul was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Learned so so much. Stopped for mangos and longan (dragon eye fruit) at a stand he recommended. Did not disappoint. Next stop will be for Kava! Oh and about the chocolate tasting….. to die for!

Fun and Informative - Our guide lead a fun and informative tour of the gardens. We were given a chance to taste many of the local fruits right off the tree.

Princeville Botanical Garden/Chocolate Tour - It was very informative and fun! The tour guide was very knowledgeable about local plants and trees. She gave a history of how certain trees and plants got to the island. Chocolate testing was also great. We would highly recommend the tour.

A great way to spend your morning!! - The tour was fantastic and a great way to spend a morning. With the terraced landscape, the pace was slow and easy, and there was lots of time for our tour guide, Troy, to explain how the garden was constructed. His knowledge of the plants in the garden was extraordinary. There were various snack stops along the way, and in the middle of the tour we stopped for our dark chocolate tastings. The sights of the garden were beautiful, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. Highly recommended!!

Worth it - Good time. Excellent guides and chocolate tasting experience. Got soaked from rain but that’s north Kauai! Better than baking in the heat!

Do it! - Rob was a terrific tour guide. Very knowledgeable and he thrived to answer even the smallest questions. They provide bug spray, umbrellas and walking sticks if needed. The terrain is not for those with mobility struggles. Stairs and walking up and down dirt trails. Bring water!!!!! At first I thought this was a bit pricey for a botanical garden but after taking this tour it is definitely worth the cost. My husband and I will most likely take this tour on our next trip to Kauai because of the expanse of the garden and individual tour guides I imagine each time would be a unique experience.

More garden tour less tasting - I recently did the garden tour with chocolate tasting. The garden tour was good and very informative. You walk through only part of the overall garden with fruit and honey sampling along the way. Our guide Troy was one of the five gardeners. He was knowledgeable and friendly. The garden terrain was uneven with some parts paved, some parts gravel and some parts dirt or grass. This is not handicapped accessible. I would not recommend for anyone who is not steady on the feet. The chocolate tasing part of the tour included several different dark chocolate samples. Each sample was tasted in a similar manner to a wine tasting. We were asked to smell the sample then hold the piece of chocolate on our tongue for 15 seconds before eating it. We would then discuss the flavors as a group. There is no pressure here. No wrong answers. Only a discussion of the flavors and how chocolate is farmed and processed. The tour was interesting. I learned a lot about cacao and the making of a piece of chocolate as well as the other plants and fruits locally available. The garden can only be accessed via reservation. There are no walk-ins for the garden or tour.

More of a push of an agenda as opposed to a tour - The gardens were pretty spectacular, however, the tour was more of a rant against big business. A tour based on comments such as "big chocolate companies (such as Nestle and Hersheys) get their beans from Africa, the children are forced to all work, and they dry the beans on the road with car fumes...". We were hoping for an informative botanical garden and chocolate tour. Not an gender pushing tour.
