The river on paddle... - The river on paddle boards is easy and it’s nice to go at your own pace. We expected Secret Falls to be a bit more. The journey on foot is not for the faint of heart. The very nice man at the shop who helped us load and unload was such a nice part of the experience.

Best Workout Ever - This is a wonderful activity if you are fit. Our family is very active and fit and it was a serious workout for all of us. The scenery was gorgeous—it’s like a dream. Once you’ve paddled for about an hour, you’ll arrive at a lovely jungle where you will hike about hour-hour and a half (coming back is much faster, it’s uphill on the way there). The waterfall is stunning and you’ll get lots of great pictures. Then you hike back and paddle home. Kayaking is easier and there were tour boats if you just want to hike. Things to bring: A wet bag for snacks and sunscreen. It’s a long day and you’ll need both. Water shoes with a thicker sole or tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We didn’t have proper shoes and it was a slippery- muddy-barefoot fest. This truly was one of my favorite experiences in HI and Dukes Paddle Boards was laidback helpful and so, so nice. Shout out to Morgan for all of her help and advice.

SUP is unreal! Do it! If you only do one activity, this has to be it! - The gentlemen that helped get the SUP was awesome! Super helpful and so friendly. The board were easy to use, load/unload from our car. So great. One of the best activities you could do! We spent 6+ hours in the water!

Beautiful paddleboard excursion - Justin was a huge help and very friendly! He loaded 5 paddleboards on top of our rental SUV and the launch spot was less than a mile away.

Amazing - The views were spectacular. The hike was awesome It was a little muddy due to being the rainy season, but we all had the proper shoes which made it easy. The waterfall was spectacular, but be prepared for paddle back was definitely testing.

Great Experience - Great experience. The gentleman running the store was extremely helpful and friendly. As mentioned in other reviews: you will need a vehicle to get the boards to the launching location. We had four stacked on top of our vehicle, which got a bit high, but was still manageable. The river current is very mild. On the way back there is some wind. It was not strong on the day we went but it does slow you down if you are standing. If you find it to be challenging, sit on the board and you will go much faster. The hike is easy with the exception of some patches near the waterfall where you have to step from rock to rock near the river then climb one muddy, steep bit. Other than that, it's easy and you just need to look out for the occasional root or rock. When you arrive at the shore near the trail, don't make the mistake we made and enter the path near the metal signs warning of flooding and other dangers. There is a path there, but it's very narrow and you will be pushing through tall grass. It will get you to the waterfall, but you will have to make two river crossings. The first one is shallow but the rocks are very slippery. The second one is deeper (about 3 feet deep). After that you will join the main path to the waterfall. You should instead follow the beach at the landing spot until you see an (unmarked trail) instead. That trail is easier to follow and you only have one river crossing. It's longer, but much more shallow and easier to navigate. You get the boards for the whole day, so take your time. We did not visit the fern grotto or the swimming hole and it took us about 5 hours to complete. If you go on a weekend, there are no guided tour groups (SUPs and kayaks) to compete with. This makes it less likely that you will run into any congestion or randos bumping your board.
