great tour! - Ok- I was skeptical of this tour, but I figured that we could bag the tour at any point. What I liked is that there is flexibility on how much time we could spend at each stop and we could skip stops if we wished.
This tour was awesome!! It was very flexible. The turn by turn steps were very easy to follow. The audio was easy to stop and start and was a good mix of history, stories and music. The app does a good job of explaining the stops and what to expect. There were no surprises.
I liked that the route is saved on the app, so if we ever want to revisit parts of the tour again. We will be back to spend some time in Hanapepe- especially on Friday nights for the arts festival!

Excellent tour & guide! Highly recommend! - Excellent tour & guide! Very easy to set up & worked perfectly. Lots of information & driving directions were very clear. Terrific views though the day we went much of Waimea had heavy cloud cover so we missed some views. Obvs the weather is a factor so consider that but otherwise it was amazing! I recommend it for an overview of the island.

Great time for two seniors. - The entire experience was fantastic! What fun we had and our guide was very entertaining. Floating through the tunnels was exciting and relaxing as well.

Great Solo Experience! - Sadly, a lot of my tours were canceled this trip to Kauai due to lack of people signing up. One of the canceled tours was the one going to Waimea Canyon. It was too late to book any other tours. I was reluctant to drive myself up the mountain but decided I would give it a shot and spent $20 on this tour. Best decision I ever made! I learned a lot of fun facts and stopped at places that seemed interesting while skipping other places I didn't care for. The hawaiian background music throughout the drive really put the Aloha spirit in me haha. I read some bad reviews of this app but I think those people just didn't know how to use the app. I do recommend familiarizing yourself with the app before you take off and make sure you have a battery pack or USB cord because you phone screen will be on the entire time you're driving. I did not have a USB cord but luckily had some battery packs which helped me through the entire drive there and back. The app recommends spending 6-8 hours for the tour. Since I cut out some stops, it took me about 5 hours to complete the entire thing. I was back to my hotel by lunchtime :) Great experience and totally worth the money!!!

Great way to see the canyon and surrounding landmarks! - This app was a great economical way to see more than we would have on our own! I highly recommend! The directions were easy to follow and use! The narrative was interesting and added to the overall experience.

App did not work! - I was so looking forward to the guided tour and I downloaded the app ahead of time since service can be spotty, but it still did not work properly and was no help. The music came through for part of the trip and that was very nice!!! All in all,,,,I would not do this again....even if it is only $20 bucks.

Self-guided app for Waimea Canyon was worthless and unusable - This was a screwed up mess! I actually want the $19.99 I paid for this excursion refunded to my credit card! In fact, if this is not done, I will direct CITI BANK to stop payment and challenge the charge. To begin: When I called up the link that was texted to me, I got "Oops. We can't find that page. Let's get you back on the right track. Try another search or click below." And I couldn't find the link. When I took another tack and tried to connect on my Viator app, I found the tour, but it was so hard to navigate. I started off by using the map and directions. I thought this would lead me to Waimea Canyon. Nope! I took me to sound roundabout, and said, "You have reached your destination." Where?? Huh?? I was nowhere near Waimea Canyon. I had no clue what to do next, and the menu on the app or excursion gave me no clue what to do next. So we had to find our way to Waimea Canyon on our own. There was no narration, nothing. There was no information on Waimea Canyon that I could access. This self-guided tour was totally worthless. There was a bar code, which I was lead to believe that I would have to have scanned by somebody at Waimea Canyon or somewhere. So I had no clue what that way. It was never scanned. The app never served its purpose. I'm glad I learned this now -- that is to NEVER buy an app or a self-guided tour -- instead of when I am in Europe in two weeks. I always had thought Viator did a great job and was very reliable. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that we aren't going to be high-and-dry in Europe. I will be relying on Viator extensively for transfers from airports to our hotels and to the port at Civitavecchia. These are very important bookings! I hope the information I have received in writing and on the app are correct! I was pretty confident in Viator before our trip to Hawaii, but I felt really let down on two of the three excursions I purchased!!!!!
