Highlights
  • 傾いてやろう - Here you will change into a kimono. They will choose a kimono that fits you and dress you beautifully. If you wish, you can add a cute obi and other accessories as an option. - Kawagoe Kumano Shrine - On the side of the cobblestone street, one can see a mysterious approach with pebbles paved at both ends. It is the “Footstep Health Road” of Kawagoe Kumano Shrine. It is an interesting place of interest where visitors can walk barefoot to stimulate pressure points on the soles of their feet and pray for good health. It is said that the shrine was originally invoked from Kumano in Kishu by Zen’ei Bun’o, the second generation priest of Renkakuji Temple, in 1590, and is well known as a god of good luck, matchmaking, and protection from bad luck. Since it is a matchmaker, it is a particularly good spot for those seeking new and wonderful encounters. - Kawagoe Ichibangai Shopping Street - As you exit the east exit of Kawagoe, you can still see the streets of the Edo period. Here, you can first get a taste of Japanese culture. - Kashiya Yokocho - This is where you can buy traditional Japanese sweets. Take a break here and enjoy some delicious Japanese sweets. - Toki no Kane - It has been a symbol of Koedo Kawagoe since the early Edo period when it was built, and has been telling the “time” that is indispensable for daily life. The current bell tower was rebuilt the year after the Great Kawagoe Fire of 1893. It is a three-story structure, approximately 16 meters high. In 1996, the bell was selected as one of the “100 Soundscapes of Japan to Preserve” by the Environment Agency. Let’s take a commemorative photo here! - Kawagoejyo Honmaru Palace - Kawagoe is a “Little Edo” where old streets still remain. The streets are lined with storehouses and merchant houses, delighting visitors. Kawagoe Castle is indispensable to the history of Kawagoe, and was selected as one of the 100 best castles in Japan in 2006. The oldest record of the “Honmaru Goten” of Kawagoe Castle is the depiction in the “Edo Zu Byobu” in the collection of the National Museum of Japanese History. Kawagoe Castle was built by Ota Dokan, a master castle builder. The remains of the castle, such as Mihono Shrine, which was worshipped by the lord of the castle and its residents, the wells of the Seven Wonders of Kawagoe Castle, and the Nakanomon moat, are all still visible today as reminders of a bygone era. The Honmaru Palace is the only one of its kind remaining in eastern Japan, and the only one of its kind in Japan. The presence of the Honmaru Goten cannot be overlooked, not only in the history of Kawagoe, but also in the history of castles in Japan. - おびつホビー店 - This is a retro toy store in Kawagoe. If you like retro toys, you may find what you want here. - Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine - It is one of the largest shrines in Kawagoe. It is also a place where many gods are enshrined. Here is an explanation of Japanese shrines. Please come and understand Japanese culture. - Benex Kawagoe - Japanese arcade. Here you can also get a taste of Japanese anime culture. If you are good, you can win a lot of figures here.
