The adventure consists of an extensive on-foot voyage in pursuit of the elusive mountain gorillas. Mountain gorilla tracking typically occurs in dense forests, escorted by an expert guide. The excursion may last up to 8 hours but could be as brief as 30 minutes, contingent upon the gorilla family’s whereabouts.
On your tracking day, rise promptly at 6:30am for breakfast and then attend a briefing until 8:00am. Embark on the journey with gentle hikes along assigned paths. As the day progresses, the hike might intensify in difficulty due to weather conditions and the distance the gorillas have traveled, yet the magnificent hour spent with an acclimated gorilla group is immensely invigorating.
Subsequently, head back to where you started with your group, reconvene with your guide or partake in a provisional picnic lunch, followed by an evening cultural immersion with the Batwa people, where you’ll be regaled with their narratives, traditional practices, and dances.
