A dream come true in Akegara Park - Going on a safari has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Our guide, Anaclet was awesome! We all highly recommend him! We had great luck seeing many kinds of animals. He communicates with other guides while in the park about who has seen different animals and their location. He was so informative and so thoughtful.

Worth the visit - I should start by saying that this was perhaps the highlight of my trip and the best decision I made on my trip — even though I was initially skeptical. My driver Jean-Paul arrived on time at 5am; he was personable and knowledgeable — having been doing this for over 10 years. The game drive was spectacular, spotting zebras, impalas, rhinos, warthog, elephants, giraffes, etc., along the drive. I signed up for the boat ride which was worth it - getting close to some amazing wildlife from birds to crocodiles (lucky enough to spot the biggest crocodile in the park) to more zebras and rhinos. The front axle of the 4x4 developed a little problem but that didn’t impact the drive in anyway. Out of an abundance of caution, JP contacted the organizer, Oliver and he drove out with another 4x4 which we didn’t need but served as a backup in case anything went wrong. Now that’s customer service! Shout out to JP and Oliver for making sure unforeseen incidentals was taken care of. There was free uninterrupted Wi-Fi and we stopped over for coffee, bathroom breaks and lunch. That makes a difference because the game drive within the park itself lasted around 5 - 6 hours not including how long it takes to get there. Side note: wear light colors. JP, who was warring bright red, suffered several bites from the tsetse flies, granted he’s probably used to it; I didn’t experience a single bite. Maybe I was lucky but I am positive my clothing had a lot to do with it. I also sprayed some insect repellent but there is no evidence that actually helps repel tsetse flies. Regardless it’s best to dress appropriately.

A wonderful last day of our trip to Rwanda. - Our one day safari trip was excellent. We had already done gorilla trekking in Uganda and we made the decision to do this safari on our last day before flying home. So glad we did! Our guide, Anaclet was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable, telling us a lot about the culture of Rwanda and pointing things out on the way to the park. Then he was fantastic at spotting and pointing out all the animals and birds and went out of his way to show us as much as he could. Everything was very well organised and timed correctly and he always made sure we were comfortable. The park was obviously very beautiful and the wildlife was incredible- - we saw buffalo, elephants (including a couple of baby ones), warthogs, hippos, zebra, giraffe, impala, crocs and more bird species than I can even remember!! I would highly recommend this trip with this tour operator.

INCREDIBLE - Absolutely incredible experience. On the way into the park my guide asked what my favorite animal was and I told him the rhino. Unbeknownst to me, he was trying to track them down all day - and at the very end, we saw them and were so close. 5 of them! I not only saw my fave animal but also saw 4 out of the big 5 in one day! It was an experience of a lifetime and I am thankful I chose Countryside Tours.

Akagera National Park is a Must! - An incredible experience all the way around! From the moment I booked the experience, to the moment we were dropped at our hotel at the end of the day, we were well taken care of - the ongoing communication, planning, attention to detail, professionalism, timeliness, and experience, made our day perfect. Our guide, Ancalet, was absolutely wonderful and he shared his knowledge of Rwanda, the park and the wildlife with genuine care and enthusiasm. He helped to make our day so special! The park itself was beautiful, and the wildlife was magical! Rwanda is a stunning country, and the residents make it so incredibly special. Visit Rwanda and be sure to visit all of the wildlife you can while there!

Amazing Safari with Muhammed!! - We had an amazing safari from beginning to end. Our guide, Muhammed, was the best!! He arrived early at a location of our choice, was an excellent driver and made for wonderful company. Having WiFi in the vehicle was great and the stop at the coffee shop was perfect. We did the pop up roof safari 4x4 and the boat ride. Seeing the hippos from the boat was so cool, and the ride around the lake was beautiful with so many birds to see. We saw an abundance of animals on our journey and Muhammed was a great spotter. He even spotted a leopard up in a tree they we almost missed and then a puff adder crossing the path in front of us!! We also saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, Cape buffalo, impala, bushback, warthogs, monkeys, Guinea fowl, African eagles, a meerkat, and probably a few more I’m missing. Muhammed was a wealth of knowledge about absolutely everything. We felt so blessed and would do it again in a heartbeat!! We loved Muhammed so much that we booked him for a city tour later in the week. Dont hesitate to book and ask for Muhammed!!!

Best experience I’ve had in Rwanda. - This experience is a must for anyone new to Rwanda. I really enjoyed the tour and plan on doing it again in the future. You also get the chance to see more of Rwanda on the drive to Akagera. The most memorable part at the park, was seeing the Jiraffes.
