Charyn Canyon - The Charyn Canyon is located in the Charyn National Park about 215km east of Almaty and approximately 3 hour drive.
After reaching canyons parking area, tourists are walking down 1,5 km by Valley of castles and through unforgettable view of rocks to the Charyn river.

The Charyn Canyon, a spectacular marvel found amid the branches of the Tian-Shan mountains, dates back to the Neogene epoch. This incredible natural wonder, often likened to the United States’ Grand Canyon, stands 200 kilometers from Almaty city. The Canyon’s ever-evolving terrain supports a diverse range of flora and fauna, including species listed in Kazakhstan’s Red Book. Notable features in the vast chasm include the Valley of Castles, the Ash and Turang Groves, and the Charyn River.
