Highlights
  • Oriental Village - Nestled at the base of Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park on Langkawi’s west coast, Oriental Village is home to the famous Langkawi SkyCab and Langkawi SkyBridge. It’s just a 45-minute drive from Kuah Jetty and a 20-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport (LIA).

A fantastic destination for all ages, this 25.944-acre Oriental Village offers stunning surroundings with unique, Instagram-worthy spots to capture your special moments. With so much to offer, a day trip to Oriental Village is a must.

From great-value souvenirs and casual clothing to delicious food from over 95 outlets, stores, and kiosks, Oriental Village has it all. For visitors’ convenience, prayer rooms, ATMs, and money changers are available throughout the area.

  • Langkawi Skybridge Cable Car - Feel the excitement of the Langkawi SkyCab as you ascend to the peak of the 550-million-year-old Mount Machinchang, offering a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of untouched treetops. Marvel at the engineering wonder of the Skybridge, the world’s longest free-span and curved bridge. At the base, Oriental Village features a variety of attractions, including 3D Art Langkawi, SkyDome, SkyRex, 6D Cinemotion, and Petland.
Soar to the top of Langkawi, an island paradise, gliding above the lush canopy of one of Southeast Asia’s ancient rainforests.
Experience the thrill of spotting diverse wildlife that inhabits the scenic slopes of Mount Machinchang.
Be amazed by the architectural feat of the Skybridge - the world’s longest free-span and curved bridge, a true engineering marvel.
  • Langkawi Sky Bridge - Spanning 125 meters in length, this structure ranks among the world’s longest curved suspension bridges. Constructing it was a challenging task, requiring solutions for critical elements such as structural balancing from a single point (top of the pylon), optimal weight management, and load distribution, as well as pre-fabrication and on-site installation.

The entire bridge, in all its components, had to be airlifted to the mountain’s summit by helicopter and then assembled in its current position.

  • Tanjung Rhu Beach - Situated on the northeastern corner of Langkawi, Tanjung Rhu gets its name from the tall casuarina trees lining its shore. In Malay, ‘Tanjung’ means cape, and ‘Rhu’ stands for Casuarina tree. This secluded beach features the blue waters of the Andaman Sea, ivory-white sand, and a gentle, cool breeze. Tanjung Rhu has shallow waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking to explore Langkawi’s marine life. It’s also a popular spot to watch the sunset, with dusk displaying vibrant shades of pink, orange, yellow, and gray.
From the beach jetty, you can take a boat tour to Kilim Geopark and Mangrove forests. Motorboats are also available for hire to visit nearby islands with ancient limestone formations. Gua Cherita, the caves of legend, can also be accessed from here. Although Tanjung Rhu is a public beach, there are no toilets or changing rooms available, and only 450 meters of the beach is open to the public.
  • Durian Perangin Waterfall - Located in the northeastern part of Langkawi, Durian Perangin waterfall doesn’t smell or taste like durian. The name comes from the tall durian trees growing in the forests near the waterfall. Durian Perangin is a multi-tiered waterfall, with each cascade forming a freshwater pool at its base. It is slanted towards the northern part of Gunung Raya, Langkawi’s highest peak. The waterfall is surrounded by fascinating rock formations and dense forest. The cool, refreshing water makes it a popular spot among locals for picnics or a quiet day away.
  • Eagle Square - Langkawi, the jewel of Kedah, gets its name from the red-backed eagle that rules the island’s skies. Legend has it that ‘Lang’ comes from the Malay word ‘helang,’ meaning eagle, and ‘Kawi’ means marble. The sight of eagles soaring high and a land rich in marble lends some credibility to this legend.
Dataran Lang, commonly known as Eagle Square, celebrates these majestic birds of Langkawi. This iconic statue is located on the southern part of Pulau Langkawi, near Kuah Jetty. Eagle Square features an impressive 12-meter-tall statue of a red-backed eagle standing on a blue star-shaped platform. It is surrounded by forest-covered mountains on one side and the open Andaman Sea on the other. With its wings spread, the eagle of Dataran Lang looks ready to take flight.
