Borgarfjörður Fjord and Its Waterfalls
Reykholt - Start your day with a cultural stop at Reykholt near Borgarfjörður. This historical site from medieval times is home to Icelandic Sagas.
Deildartunguhver - Visit Deildartunguhver, Europe’s largest hot spring, located in Reykjadalur, or the “valley of smoke.” From a safe distance, observe massive bubbles in the 97°C water and feel the heat on your face.
Budakirkja - Continue exploring the south coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula with a stop at Búdir church, one of Iceland’s three black churches and a popular spot for photographers. Nearby, you might spot seals in the sea.
Arnarstapi - Make a brief stop at Arnarstapi, known for its beauty. The beach features an arch carved by erosion, called Gatklettur, or “hole in the cliff.”
Vatnshellir Cave - At 3 PM, explore an 8,000-year-old lava tube located 32 meters underground. This fascinating formation, accessible by spiral stairs, offers a unique experience. Equipped with a helmet and headlight, descend deep beneath the surface.
Kirkjufellsfoss - Visit Kirkjufellsfoss, one of Iceland’s most photographed waterfalls, along with the famous Kirkjufell mountain, which formed 5 to 10 million years ago. Its multi-layered tip provides a majestic look.

Akureyri and The Beer SPA
Dalvik - Start your day in Dalvík, a village on the Tröllaskagi peninsula, ideal for whale watching. Stock up on food and beverages at the local grocery store before continuing your journey.
Consider visiting Hrísey Island, Iceland’s second-largest island, by driving to Árskógssandur and taking the ferry. Known for bird watching, the island hosts about 40 bird species. Walk along one of three paths and, with luck, spot many birds. Note that this is a recommendation, and the admission fee is not included in the tour price. Check the ferry schedule on Hrísey’s website. A visit here takes about 3 hours, including driving and ferry time.
Akureyri - End your day in Akureyri, the “capital of the north.” Visit the lovely church, botanical garden, and swimming pool with outdoor slides. A 10-minute drive from the center takes you to the charming, year-round Christmas house.
Akureyri and Lake Mývatn
Godafoss - On your way to Lake Mývatn, stop at Godafoss, the “waterfall of the gods.” Legend says that in the year 1,000, Þorgeir, who made Christianity official in Iceland, threw Norse god statues into the waterfall. The chute is 12 meters high and 30 meters wide.
Dimmuborgir Lava Formations - Visit Dimmuborgir, a large lava field with caves and arches formed during a powerful eruption 2,300 years ago. Roam around the park dedicated to these formations.
Skútustaðagígar - Next, visit Skútustadagígar pseudo craters, perfect for walking and bird watching.
Myvatn Nature Baths (Jardbodin vid Myvatn) - End your day in the warm waters of Mývatn’s Nature Baths at 7 PM. Enjoy the sauna, steam room, warm waterfall, and panoramic lake view from the open-air bath.
Húsavik & Akureyri - Diamond Circle
Gentle Giants – Húsavík Whale Watching - Húsavík is the place for a Whale Watching Tour! Embark on a three-hour sea adventure at 9:45 AM to see whales and possibly dolphins.
Ásbyrgi - Visit Ásbyrgi, a shoe-shaped canyon formed 8,000 to 10,000 years ago after glacial flooding. Today, it’s a woodland area with a small lake and 100-meter-high cliffs, featuring many walking paths.
Vök Baths and Egilsstaðir
Rjukandi Waterfall - Stop at Rjúkandi waterfall, just outside of Egilsstadir. The landscape until Mývatn is lunar-like, with surprising sights along the way.
East Coast and Seydisfjordur Fjord
Studlagil Canyon - Studlagil Canyon, with its stunning basalt rock columns and blue river, is a must-see on the East coast. Admire the canyon from the viewing platform or go down to the gorge.
Eastern Iceland
Diamond Beach and Vatnajokull Glacier Hike
Diamond Beach - Experience the otherworldly Diamond Beach, a black beach where thousands of ice blocks from the glacier lie around, glittering like diamonds in the sunlight.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon Boat Tours and Cafe - At 10:30 AM, take an amphibian boat tour through the stunning icebergs of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. During this 35-minute trip, taste 1,000-year-old ice and learn about the lagoon from an English-speaking guide. Don’t forget your camera for a chance to capture seals against the picturesque glacier backdrop.
Tröll Expeditions Skaftafell - At 2 PM, embark on a hiking experience on the Skaftafell glacier, walking on the Falljökull outlet, part of the Vatnajökull glacier.
Skaftafell National Park - Visit Skaftafell National Park with its many walking paths. One leads to the beautiful Svartifoss waterfall, surrounded by dark basalt columns. Note that park admission is free, but there is a parking fee not included in the tour price.
South Coast and Black Beach
Systrafoss - Start your day by driving to Kirkjubæjarklaustur to visit Systrafoss waterfall, a chute from lake Systravatn atop a mountain. A short hike to the top offers spectacular views. You might also drive 5 minutes further to see the picturesque Stjórnarfoss waterfall.
Vik - Vík in Mýrdal is a charming village on the south coast, nestled between the Mýrdasjokull glacier, Jokulsá and Blautavísl rivers, and a long stretch of black beach.
Reynisfjara Beach - Visit Reynisfjara beach and its renowned cliff Reynisfjall. The basalt columns of the cliff wall create a unique atmosphere. Sit on the columns and gaze at the three basalt rock formations in the Atlantic Sea, rumored to be trolls caught by daylight.
Dyrholaey - Dyrhólaey, or Doorhill Island, was once an island thousands of years ago. The 120-meter rock formation with a hole in the middle is a top-rated site in Iceland and home to many bird species.
Lava Show - At 1:30 PM, attend the Icelandic Lava Show to safely witness real hot lava flowing from a simulated volcanic eruption.
For history enthusiasts, we recommend visiting the Skógar Museum, which houses 15,000 artifacts in three museums and six buildings, showcasing Iceland’s cultural heritage. Horse Riding and Reykjadalur Hot River
Skogafoss - Visit the impressive Skógafoss waterfall, fed by melting waters from Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers. The powerful chute offers a unique experience with loud sounds, water spray, and rainbows.
Seljalandsfoss - See Seljalandsfoss, a 60-meter-high waterfall you can walk behind. It’s a picturesque site, widely photographed and featured. Note that entrance is free, but there is a parking fee not included in the tour price.
Gljufrabui Waterfalls - Gljufrabui Waterfall, hidden by rock formations, is 40 meters high. Wear waterproof shoes and a jacket!
Hótel Eldhestar - Make new friends with Icelandic horses at Eldhestar. The “TOUR 2A - The Heritage Tour” at 2 PM is perfect for all riders to get acquainted with these beautiful creatures in the countryside.
Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon
Thingvellir National Park - Start your Golden Circle exploration with a visit to Þingvellir National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a geological marvel with Oxara waterfall and Silfra Fissure, born from the continental drift. It’s also an important historical and political site. Note that park entrance is free, but there is a parking fee not included in the tour price.
Gullfoss Waterfall - Gullfoss waterfall is a dramatic 32-meter-high chute that falls into a deep crevasse, creating water spray and rainbows when the droplets catch the sunlight.
Geysir - Visit Geysir, where the Strokkur geyser shoots water up to 15 meters in the air. The geothermal area also features fumaroles, mud pots, and boiling water openings.
For those interested, we recommend visiting Fridheimar Restaurant and Farm, known for horse breeding, horse shows, and a tomato farm. Run entirely on geothermal energy, Fridheimar uses biological pest control products. The restaurant offers tomato specialties. Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin - Experience a geothermal bath at the Secret Lagoon at 4 PM. Built in 1891 near the Litli Geysir, the lagoon offers warm waters and frequent spouting activities for visitors’ enjoyment.
Kerid Crater - Visit Kerið volcanic crater, approximately 3,000 years old, with vivid summer colors and a lovely winter coat. The inner lake catches sunlight on frosty days. Note that there is a small admission fee to visit the crater lake, similar to a parking fee, not included in the tour price.

Sun Voyager - Depending on your flight time, explore the capital further and visit the Sun Voyager, a famous sculpture by the sea representing freedom and hope, Hallgrímskirkja church, inspired by Icelandic basalt columns, or Perlan, a museum and restaurant atop four water tanks. After some time in Reykjavík, head to CampEasy’s office to return your camper.
The Sun Voyager sculpture, created by Jón Gunnar Árnason, conveys a message of hope and freedom. Placed by the sea with majestic mountains in the background, it’s a must-see!
Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre - Visit Harpa, the music and conference hall inspired by Icelandic nature. Note that admission is free, but there is a parking fee not included in the tour price.
Hallgrimskirkja - Hallgrimskirkja church, near downtown Reykjavik and the famous Rainbow Street, offers a 360° panoramic view of the city from its top. Note that church entrance is free, but there is a small fee to access the tower, not included in the tour price.
Perlan - If you have time before your flight, visit Perlan, a museum atop four water tanks supplying Reykjavík. Participate in the Aurora Show to learn about the northern lights.
