Highlights

Reykjanesbaer and Hveragerdi

Keflavík International Airport - We offer complimentary shuttle service from either Keflavik international airport or a hotel accommodation from Keflavik town to CampEasy office located just 5 minutes drive from the airport.

Bridge Between Continents - You start today´s itinerary by visiting the Reykjanes peninsula. The first stop is the famous Leif the Lucky (or Miðlína) Bridge between continents, where you can stand between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.

Gunnuhver Hot Springs - You spend some time visiting this geothermal area, which features steam vents, hot mud pools, and an incredible landscape shaped by the minerals in the ground. You see vibrant hues on steaming surfaces with the Reykjanes lighthouse in the background. This is undoubtedly a place not to miss!

Kleifarvatn Lake - Reykjanesbær peninsula´s largest lake, Kleifarvatn, is also among Iceland´s deepest lakes with almost 100 meters in depth. The water comes from the porous lava ground around it and is home to many fishes, particularly anglers! The lake reflects Iceland´s beauty in its simplicity, with lava ground covered in many places by thousand years´ old moss.

Golden Circle and Waterfalls

Thingvellir National Park - Þingvellir National Park is one of the Golden Circle sites. This is not only a geological marvel where Öxará waterfall (or Öxarárfoss) and Silfra Fissure were born out of the continental drift, splitting the earth‘s crust at various locations but it is also an important historical and political site. The site visit is free, however, you have to pay a Parking fee, which is not included in the tour´s price.

Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths - You go for a Rye Bread tour at 11.45 AM where the dough is cooked on the very ground by the geothermal heat and you can, of course, taste it! You then soak in the deliciously warm waters of Fontana Bath from which you have a panoramic view of the lake.

If you are interested, we recommend you visit Fridheimar Restaurant and Farm, famous for its horse breeding and horse show activities, and its tomato farm entirely run with geothermal energy using biological pest controls. Fridheimar is open for visits and has a restaurant where you can taste their tomatoes’ specialties.
Note that Fridheimar is only our recommendation, the admission fee is not included in the tour price. Booking in advance needs to be done by you either by e-mail to [email protected] or phone call to (+354) 486 8894.
If you choose to come here, it will take you 1 hours, including the driving time from Laugarvatn Fontana.

Geysir - You next visit Geysir where the geyser Strokkur shoots its warm water column up to 15 meters in the air. Geysir is the second point on the famous Golden Circle route that you are scheduled to visit.

Gullfoss Falls - You complete the Golden Circle with a visit to the mighty waterfall Gullfoss which chute impressively drops down in a narrow gorge from 32 meters high.

Seljalandsfoss - Seljalandsfoss is a 60 meters high waterfall behind which you can walk. It is a very picturesque site and is therefore widely photographed and featured.
Note that entrance to the waterfall area is free; however, there is a parking fee you must pay, which is not included in the tour price.

South Coast

Vik - Vík in Mýrdal is a charming village on the south coast by the seashore. It is niched between Mýrdasjokull glacier, Jökulsá á Brú and Blautavísl rivers, and of course the long stretch of black beach.

Reynisfjara Beach - Next, you visit the Reynisfjara beach and its well-renowned cliff Reynisfjall. The basalt columns of the cliff wall provide a unique atmosphere to the site. You may like to sit on some of them and gaze away at the three basalt rock formations standing out of the powerful Atlantic Sea. Rumor has it that they are the remains of trolls who wanted to reach the shore but got caught by daylight, which transformed them.

Dyrholaey - Dyrhólaey or Doorhill Island is the remains of what used to be island thousands of years ago. The promenade is a 120 meters rock formation that has a gaping hole in the middle where ships used to sail through. Today, Dyrhólaey is a top-rated site in Iceland and is home to many bird species.

Fjaðrárgljúfur - Fjadrargljufur Canyon is among the must-see sites on the south coast. Its sinuous and dramatic shape, cold river and the odd sheeps here and there grazing grass is just an incredible site worth the detour! This site was the production site of Justin Bieber music video back in 2015.

Systrafoss - You next drive to Kirkjubæjarklaustur where you can make a stop to visit Systrafoss waterfall, a chute from lake Systravatn which is situated on top of the mount, in the background landscape. A short hike to the top would give you a spectacular view on the whole area.
You might also like to drive 5 minutes further to see Stjórnarfoss waterfall, another picturesque chute.

Skaftafell National Park - Take some time next to visit the Skaftafell National Park with its many walking paths. One leads to the beautiful Svartifoss waterfall or black waterfall because of the dark-colored balsalt column formation round it. There is no admission fee to the park, however, a parking fee is required to be paid and is not included in the price.

Diamond Beach and a Glacier Adventure

Diamond Beach - Be ready to have an outer-world experience today! The Diamond beach is a beautiful black beach where thousands of blocks of ice from the glacier lie around. They are of numerous sizes and shapes and glitter in the sunlight just as diamonds do!

Laguna Glaciar Jokulsarlon - Next, you visit the Jokulsárlón glacier lagoon where icebergs that broke free from the Vatnajokull glacier float about before reaching the sea. The lagoon formed approximately 90 years old when the bottom of the Breidamerkurjokull tongue started to melt.

Selfoss - Selfoss is a town located 50 km from Reykjavik in southern Iceland. In the same town, you will spend today night. Take a rest, visit a restaurant and prepare for the last day of your journey.

Departure to Keflavík Airport

Sun Voyager - he famous Sun Voyager sculpture has been created by Jón Gunnar Árnason, who, through his piece, wanted to convey a message of hope and freedom. The statue is placed right by the sea with majestic mountains in the background. It is certainly something not to miss!

Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre - Harpa, the music and conference hall whose architecture was also inspired by Icelandic nature.
Note that to enter Harpa to visit the building only, the admission is free, however, you need to pay a small amount of parking fee which is not included in the tour price.

Note that the entrance to the church is free, however, you need pay an admission fee if you wish to walk up to the church´s tower, which is not included in the tour price.

If you fancy, we recommend you take a nice bath in the famous Blue Lagoon, which is one of 25 wonders of the world. Blue Lagoon is an excellent opportunity to relax before departure, if you still have some time left before your flight.
Note that this is only our recommendation, the admission fee to the Blue Lagoon is not included in the tour price. Booking to the Blue Lagoon admission needs to be made by you on Blue Lagoon´s website.

CampEasy is FANTASTIC!!!! - In April 2024 we hit fabulous good weather!!! All the campgrounds had tons of space. We used the 'tent symbol' on the National Geographic map to find our overnight camp locations. CampEasy was very friendly and professional in all ways. Super team!

Our first time with a camper van. I can’t recommend these guys enough! - Our first time with a camper van. I can’t recommend these guys enough, I have seen so many reviews given to their competitors for unreliable vans, batteries not holding charge overnight and so on. The van was in very good shape, very clean and comfy. I was amazed by how long the batteries lasted, even after 14h with non-stop heating. Being our first time with a camper van, I was quite worried regarding the efficiency of the heating overnight, but we had no issues at all, and the power of the heater was more than enough, I think at full blast you can create a little sauna in there! The other thing I liked a lot was that they kept us informed regarding weather and emailed us some useful information regarding Easter as some of the remote places might be closed over the weekend, etc. Great experience! Thank you
