Highlights
- Kelleys Island State Park - We start at the Kelleys Island State Park Kayak launch, with beautiful views of the North Bay, the beach and rock pier. After getting comfortable in the kayaks we paddle out of the bay and around to the North shore.
- Kelleys Island State Park - After leaving North Bay, we paddle along the beautiful North shore line for about 15 minutes to the Alvar State Preserve. Here we stop and explore this rare habitat finding fossils and glacial erratics while learning about island history. We board the kayaks again and paddle to our next adventure.
- North Pond State Nature Preserve - After we paddle across the bay we land on this beach to explore this all together different and unique habitat of North Pond. This rare lake embayment pond and barrier beach is a fascinating preserve and another quick rest break. Wild life viewings throughout the trip are frequent.
- Kelleys Island - The short return paddle takes us back to the launch site.

We provide all the equipment needed; safe and comfortable kayaks with instruction and a tour guide to take you to the best spots. This two hour tour begins and ends at the Kelleys Island State Park Kayak Launch at the sign for the Kelley Island Water Trail sign beyond the beach. The cell reception is spotty on the North side of the island so check your phone for tour updates and directions prior to arriving at the State Park.

Sporty good time. - Great water and nature tour. Our lakes have a lot more nature than most realize. We had a weather change and it made the tour exciting, and memorable. Everything you need is ready to go, so no need to transport any supplies to the Island.

Adventure for the family - Dawn was very knowledgeable about the island. It was very interesting to hear about the local ecosystem. We also enjoyed kayaking considering it was our first time. It was a great way to see the island in such a lovely setting. We recommend this tour highly!

Amazing kayak tour - We had an awesome time! Our tour guide was wonderful. She took her time with us, it was our first time kayaking! She made it fun and easy to learn. Plus the wealth of knowledge she has about Kelly’s island is amazing! It made the tour that much better. Would 100% do it again!

A Must-Do Activity - What a great experience! Dawn is so kind & knowledgable about Kelleys Island, Lake Erie and more. She is happy to answer any questions. Not only did we have a great time kayaking around Lake Erie, at one of our stops we walked inland to explore and saw a bald eagle's nest & a bald eagle in flight! My family of four, including my husband and two teenage daughters, highly recommend this tour!

A fun kayaking adventure - The kayak trip was a lot of fun! Our guide Dawn was a great kayaking instructor and very knowledgeable about the local plants, rocks, fossils, fish and birds. The pebble beach was wonderful.
