Tsavo National Park East - 7:00 am – It’s an early start for your safari adventure as your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide arrives to pick you up in a private 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. Climb aboard and we’ll begin our journey towards Mombasa via the Likoni Ferry.
Next, we’ll travel along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, also known as the “Explorers’ Route”, as the sun rises over the fields.
In just a few hours, we’ll reach Tsavo East, greeted by its vast landscapes and expansive skies.
We’ll explore various watering holes such as Mudanda Rock and the Aruba Dam, where wildlife gathers to drink.
There will be ample time for animal viewing and enjoying lunch in this wide-open natural setting.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on more game spotting, allowing you to immerse yourself in the safari experience.
Tsavo East – Tsavo West
Tsavo National Park West - We’ll rise before dawn to witness the sunrise as the park awakens with wildlife like waterbuck, gerenuk, buffalo, and elephants.
After breakfast, we’ll head out for another game drive, searching the savannah for more of the park’s inhabitants.
It’s a short drive to the rolling green hills of Tsavo West, a contrast to the rugged terrain we’ve left behind. This park is home to all the major wildlife, including rhinos.
We’ll visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, where these elusive nocturnal creatures reside. The rhino is an endangered species, but this sanctuary provides protection and care to help increase their population.
Tsavo West - Diani Beach
Tsavo National Park West - On our final safari day, we’ll rise early to maximize our wildlife viewing opportunities. We’ll watch the sun rise over the park and discover one of its hidden gems: a lush, palm-shaded oasis called Mzima Springs.
Having spent much of our safari in the 4 x 4 Jeep, we’ll now have the chance to explore on foot. We can stroll along the spring’s shores, looking for unique migratory birds and exotic fish.
We’ll also encounter crocodiles and hippos thriving in the millions of gallons of freshwater that feed the spring. This is a different kind of safari – tranquil and vibrant with nature’s colors.
We’ll enjoy lunch in these natural surroundings, reflecting on all we’ve experienced. After lunch, we’ll return to our 4 x 4 Jeep for a final game drive as we exit the park and head back to the coast.
