Masai Mara 2 day safari was perfect - Great driver guide Samuel. Saw lots of amazing animals. A little rain was nice and cooling. Camp and tents were great! 2 to a tent with shower and toilet. Not expected! Masai very courteous and friendly. Food great especially soups. Unfortunately they overdo the steaks and coffee is only instant. Minor. Highly recommended!

So much to see - Saw so much. Guide was really pushing the limits to ensure we saw everything. Was physically exhausted by the end. Accommodation fine but no upmarket safari Lodge, but then this isn't that sort of tour.

Viele Tiere und perfekte Organisation - The Maasai Mara deserves to be called a wonder of the world. We have seen not only numerous elephants, buffalos, lions, and leopards, but also giraffes and zebras and numerous over species. We were also overwhelmed from the scenes of large herds of gnus or zebras of which I never expected that so many existed at all. Our guide Kevin has shown comprehensive knowledge of the Mara's places to go to actually find animals, perfectly complemented by listening to the radiotelephone. As we e.g. have been specifically into giraffes, Kevin managed to both navigate to prospective places as well as stopping on request when he or one of us spotted one, not forgetting the many other animals to see. We have booked the Private Safari as the all-inclusive package because we had no prior experience with safaris and a four years old daughter, and this worked out extremely well: the only money we have spent are some tips for excellent performance and an extra tour over the Lake Naivasha on our way back, see below. In particular, enough drinking water has been available at any time. We arrived the first day already for lunch at the accomodation, the Rhino Tourist Camp. The accomodation there are tented rooms including private bathrooms and a shower. Everything has been clean. Some background music has been perceivable throughout the night, most likely to deter in combination with light on all the way inside the camp to deter the wild animals. A double outlet allowed to recharge the batteries of the phones and cameras. Breakfast, lunch and dinner had excellent food including well prepared vegetables. We have started with a two-and-a-half hours tour on the afternoon of the first day. We have been totally overwhelmed by the richness of impressions very quickly, so this has been ample time in the Mara park for the first day. On the second day we spent the full day in the Mara, having lunch in boxes that Kevin has brought from the Rhino camp at the hippo observation spot where the Mara river crosses the boundary to Tanzania. We actually overdrafted the planned return time of 17h a little bit because there have been so many interesting animals to spot, and Kevin has spotted further animals up to the last minute. On the third day on our way back we decided to make a detour to the Lake Naivasha, and this has been a great extra, too: while there are relatively fewer birds in the Mara compared to the large number of mammals, the lake featured a rich ecosystem with specifically many birds. We also got as close as possible to a savage zabra and a savage giraffe. We have returned on the third day shortly before 19h at Nairobi.

Perfect guide, poor accommodation - Very informative and nice safari with plenty of time to see the area. In addition a very good guide, who was well informed and helpful for the participants. Unfortunately the accommodation did not live up to the things promised. We were moved to another place than promised, and that was turned off for electricity at night, like there was no hot water. The pictures for the trip did not match the reality.

Great safari experience. - Overall a fantastic safari experience. The lodging was also fantastic as it was small huts with an ensuite bathroom and electricity instead of tents. Our driver, George was great and very knowledgeable. The national park has an abundance of animals. We only saw 3 of the big 5 but we also saw a cheetah which was very cool. The jeep upgrade is definitely worth it. The masai village is also worth doing. The only frustrating thing was the park fees but that’s set by the local government.

Cool Experience But Needs Elevated Customer Service - The game drive was very cool. Driver Gasto is an excellent driver and very knowledgeable in spotting the Big 4 but not so friendly and rarely smiles. The camp is basic and does not have hot showers. Beds are comfortable and food is decent. We were only provided 2 small bottles of water out of a 3-day trip. You can just skip the Masai Village tour. It’s too commercialized, a waste of money. Tips: 1. Bring your own water. They only provide 2 small bottles of water during the entire trip. Even coffee or soda are charged. 2. National park entrance is $200/day. You can skip the sunset game drive on the first day and save the $200. The second day is a full day game drive where you can maximize your $200 park fees. 3. If you have been to Nairobi National Park, you will see pretty much the same animals plus rhinos. It’s more budget friendly if you can’t afford this more expensive trip. Suggestions to the tour operator: 1. Please hire more friendly and professional drivers who can elevate the guests’ experience. 2. Need to be more transparent and communicative. We have one lady in our group tour who was kept in the dark about her 5-day itinerary and became very frustrated when the tour operator sold her trip to another agency. 3. Please bring more water to the guests and keep them hydrated. Water is a necessity and costs so little so please don’t be stingy.
