Maasai Mara National Reserve - Guests will be collected from their hotel or the airport at a prearranged time in the morning. They will visit the office to settle any remaining balance and receive a briefing about their safari. The journey from Nairobi begins with a stop at the Great Rift Valley to admire the stunning scenery and capture some photos. The next stop is Narok for lunch, followed by a drive to Maasai Mara, where guests will check into their camp or lodge and embark on an evening game drive.
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara
After breakfast, guests will enjoy a full day of game viewing in the lush, tree-dotted savannah grassland, home to over 450 wildlife species, including large herds of wildebeests and zebras. Spotting the Big 5 animals is highly likely during this full day. This reserve is Kenya’s premier park, featuring a well-maintained road network that allows for close-range animal viewing. Lunch will be served along the Mara River, where guests can view the hippo pool and witness the great wildebeest migration. In the evening, return to the lodge or camp.
Lake Nakuru National Park - After breakfast, guests will depart the Mara region for Nakuru, with lunch en route. The journey offers scenic views of Mt. Longmont and Lake Naivasha from a distance along the main highway. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel with self-contained rooms.
Hell’s Gate National Park - Following breakfast, guests will embark on a game drive in Lake Nakuru Park, renowned for its abundant birdlife, including flamingos. The park features a sanctuary for the conservation of the white rhino, and species such as Cape Buffalo and Waterbuck can be seen near the shoreline. Enjoy a hot lunch and drive to Naivasha, with the option of a boat ride on the freshwater lake to see hippos and fish eagles at an additional cost. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a budget hotel.
Hell’s Gate National Park - After breakfast, guests can enjoy a nature walk in Hell’s Gate National Park. Bicycles are available for hire to explore the park. The park is home to over 100 bird species, including vultures, Verreaux’ Eagles, Augur Buzzard, and Swifts. Common wildlife includes African Buffalo, Zebra, Eland, Hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and Baboons. The park also hosts Klipspringer Antelope and Chanler’s Mountain Reedbuck. Guests can enjoy hot or picnic lunches before driving back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
