Full Day in Mara
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Spend the entire day exploring the Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve under the shade of a croton tree while admiring the beauty of the Mara, located by the banks of the Mara River.
Optional: In the evening, visit a Maasai village for a cultural tour at USD 20. Learn about the Maasai community and interact with the local Maasai people. An overnight stay at the Maasai village can be arranged upon request.
A balloon safari at USD 380 per person can be organized early in the morning on this day, followed by the regular program. The Mara is renowned for hosting one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration.
Mara River - During the full-day tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Mara River, home to many resident hippos and crocodiles basking on its banks.
Depart Maasai Mara to Nakuru
Lake Nakuru - After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at the camp. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake on the outskirts of Nakuru town, famous for its millions of flamingos. The number of flamingos varies with the water level, which affects the amount of algae they feed on. Flamingos migrate to other Rift Valley lakes when water levels are low. The National Park surrounds the lake and was established to protect the flamingo colony and provide a sanctuary for endangered species like the rhino. The park hosts about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators also reside in this park, and Rothschild’s giraffes have been relocated here for safety.
Makalia Waterfalls - These waterfalls are located within Lake Nakuru National Park.
Day 4: Nakuru to Naivasha
Lake Naivasha - After an early breakfast, depart by 7:00 AM directly to the park. This small park is home to magnificent, rare white rhinos, part of the Big Five. There is also a chance to see pink flamingos. The game drive lasts three hours, after which you depart for Naivasha.
Arrive in time for lunch. Afterward, enjoy an hour-long boat ride on Lake Naivasha for bird watching and hippo viewing.
Naivasha - Amboseli
Amboseli National Park - After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel by 7:00 AM to head to Hell’s Gate National Park for a biking safari. Experience a guided tour while observing various animal species as you bike.
Take a guided walk in the gorge, where you can explore caves formed in some areas.
Conclude the tours and return the bikes at the gate.
Drive to Naivasha Kifaru Restaurant or Mai Mahiu Hotel for lunch. Then, begin the drive to Amboseli, arriving in the evening. Check into the lodge, swim, and relax. The game drive will take place the following day.
Amboseli Full Day
Amboseli National Park - An early morning game drive in Amboseli offers a chance to see Mt. Kilimanjaro as it emerges from its cloud cover. The game drive continues to Lake Amboseli, a vast salt pan with permanent swamps. This area is rich in wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, buffalo, Burchell’s zebras, elands, Masai giraffes, and various antelope species like the common waterbuck, klipspringer, Grant’s gazelle, impala, and topi. It also features a dry Pleistocene lake basin that becomes Lake Amboseli after the rains. Water from Mt. Kilimanjaro flows under lava beds and surfaces in Amboseli, creating a lush swampland amid dusty plains. Although Amboseli has fewer animal species than the Mara, the open landscape offers better chances of spotting larger predators.
Observation Hill - This scenic overlook in Amboseli Park provides a perfect spot to watch elephants play in the marsh below.
Amboseli to Nairobi
Amboseli Ecosystem - After an early breakfast, check out and enjoy a short game drive en route to Nairobi. A complimentary lunch will be provided at the Travellers Motel on the way back to Nairobi, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
