Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Pick up in Nairobi from your hotel or residence within Nairobi CBD at 8:00 am and begin your safari to Maasai Mara at 08:30. You will stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint at 10:00 to admire the escarpments and the flat lands below. The Rift Valley is a geographical formation that developed millions of years ago and extends from the top to the bottom of Africa. Arrive at Maasai Mara Game Reserve in time for lunch. Enjoy a two-hour evening game drive.
Mai Mahiu Road - You will stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint on Mai Mahiu Road, where you will have a breathtaking view of the Rift Valley floor. The Rift Valley system was formed 5 million years ago and stretches from the Red Sea through Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. The Rift Valley is an active volcanic area with fascinating features, including more than 8 lakes, dormant and active volcanic mountains, hot springs, and geysers like the Olkaria geothermal wells and Lake Bogoria geysers.
From this high vantage point, you can see the volcanic Mt. Suswa and Mt. Longonot with their evergreen craters and the undulating green Rift Valley floor. The view from here is simply stunning. Be sure to take plenty of photos.
Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara
Maasai Mara National Reserve - At 07:30, embark on a full-day game drive to the Mara River, the site of the great wildebeest migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park under a croton shade tree at 13:00, then continue the game drive and return to your accommodation at 16:00. In the evening, visit a Maasai Village to learn more about their culture.
Mara River - The Mara River is located in Narok County (Kenya) and Mara Region (Tanzania) and lies across the migration path of ungulates in the Maasai Mara/Serengeti game reserves. This is where the wildebeest migration occurs. The river is home to many resident hippos and crocodiles.
Maasai Mara to Namanga
Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, start the drive to the Namanga border to spend the night. You will be picked up along the way by a separate car to avoid traffic jams and head to Namanga, the border town, to prepare for the Tanzania portion of the trip. Get your visa stamped at the border.

Lake Manyara National Park - Drive and join a group safari to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara is a 2-hour drive from Arusha and is a small park where you can do game drives for 2 to 3 hours. Enjoy a game drive after lunch until evening.

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, leave for Serengeti. Arrive and start a game drive en route to the camp. The camp is named Serengeti Katikati Camp. Continue with game drives in the afternoon until late evening.
