Dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak, Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most beloved parks. The name “Amboseli” is derived from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust,” and it is one of the premier locations in Africa to observe large herds of elephants up close. Nature enthusiasts can explore five distinct habitats here, ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulfur springs, to the savannah and woodlands.
