Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Great Rift Valley - The Great Rift Valley is an intra-continental ridge system that traverses Kenya from north to south. It is part of the Gregory Rift, the eastern branch of the East African Rift, beginning in Tanzania and extending north into Ethiopia.[1] This valley was formed on the “Kenyan Dome,” a geographical uplift created by the interaction of three major tectonic plates: the Arabian, Nubian, and Somalian plates.[2] Historically, it was considered part of a “Great Rift Valley” stretching from Madagascar to Syria. Most of the valley is located within the former Rift Valley Province.

Maasai Mara National Reserve - At 8:00 AM, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Nairobi city center/Westlands and begin the journey to Maasai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where they will enjoy a stunning view of the rift valley floor. Here, they will see the semi-active Mt. Longonot and two other dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa and Mt. Margaret, for 10 minutes. Arrival is in time for lunch, followed by hotel check-in. Later, at 4:00 PM, guests will depart for a two-hour game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve until 6:00 PM. They will return to the camp for a delicious buffet dinner, ending with a relaxing evening at the camp.

Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After an early breakfast at 6:30 AM, guests will depart for a full day of game viewing. This is a crucial day as there is hope to see the Big Five, especially the elusive big cats. Additionally, there will be a visit to the famous Mara River, where the great migration occurs, with a guided tour by rangers to observe the Nile crocodiles and hippo families. To top it off, guests will enjoy a picnic lunch under a tree in the park, overlooking the vast landscapes. The Mara is renowned for hosting one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebra moving from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture, followed closely by the savanna’s predators – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Depart Maasai Mara to Namanga

Namanga/Arusha to Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, guests will drive to Arusha and join a group heading to Manyara National Park. Manyara is a two-hour drive from Arusha and is a small park where game drives can be enjoyed for 2 to 3 hours. Game drives will continue after lunch until evening.

Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, guests will depart for the Serengeti. Upon arrival, they will start a game drive en route to the campsite, with more game drives in the afternoon until late evening.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Guests will depart the Serengeti at 7:00 AM, with a game drive en route to Ngorongoro Park, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way.

Ngorongoro to Arusha

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at the lodge, guests will proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day tour with picnic lunches. Following the tour, they will check out and continue to Arusha.
