On your in Adelaide, S.A. We did 3 tours - Barossa Valley Wine Tour As part of our three wine tours with Bums on Seats, the Barossa Valley was a standout. Our favorite stop here was Kies Family Wines, where Monica led the tasting. She was outstanding—knowledgeable and passionate, making it the best tasting experience across all three tours. Unfortunately, lunch at Yaldara was a letdown. My chicken salad even had a fly in it, and my partner’s crumbed fish tasted like it came straight from a supermarket freezer. The biggest disappointment was Chateau Tanunda. The staff member, Larry, seemed completely disinterested and unprofessional, offering pairings like “KFC and Netflix,” which really diminished the experience. Thankfully, our tour guide, Deep, was excellent. He was considerate, helped with my car sickness, and made the day more enjoyable despite the few low points. McLaren Vale Wine Tour Of the three tours we took, the McLaren Vale tour was by far the best. Perry, our guide, was fantastic—his knowledge of the region and enthusiasm made the experience exceptional. Maxwell Wines was our favorite stop, thanks to generous pours and a friendly team. We couldn’t help but buy loads of wine here! Another highlight was Graham Stevens Wines, where we took part in the “Off the Grid” experience. Graham was a lot of fun, and his wine was excellent, so we stocked up there too. Lunch and tasting at Oxenberry Farm were also great, with delicious food and excellent wine. The only downside was our stop at Nick Hazelgrove Wines, where we had to wait for staff to open the shop for our tasting, and they seemed a bit disorganized. Overall, McLaren Vale was the highlight of our three tours, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone. Adelaide Hills Wine Tour As the final leg of our three wine tours with Bums on Seats, Adelaide Hills was enjoyable but didn’t quite measure up to the other regions. The wines here didn’t hit the mark for us, and we’re not sure we’d visit this area again. However, our guide, Pete, really made the day. Though he was new to guiding, he was knowledgeable and engaging, ensuring we had a good time. A nice touch was the free cake and drink at Hahndorf, although we weren’t entirely sure what all the fuss was about. While this tour was pleasant, it didn’t quite live up to the Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale experiences from our other tours.

Great day out - worth doing! - Our driver 'Deep' was fantastic, very knowledgeable and friendly. We went to Kersbrook Hill (small but was very nice), Maggie Beers Farm Shop (I recommend the cheese scone!), Chateau Dorrien - at first it seemed like we were an inconvenience to the lady behind the counter (not sure if she knew our bus was coming perhaps) but she warmed up and it was a good experience by the end. For lunch we went to Riverside Restaurant on the Chateau Yaldara premises - very, very disappointing. We got the fish - and it was frozen crumbed fish out of a box - was awful and absolutely not what you would expect from such a lovely establishment nor for the price we paid for our tour. Note: we did not tour the winery here - lunch only. Next was Kies winery - very good, gorgeous premises and very knowledgable young blonde bloke did the spiel. And lastly the Barossa Valley Chocolate company - pricey but very nice. Overall a great day, very long day, made some friends on the bus - was great fun.

Lovely day in the wineries - Maddy was a great guide for the group. He was very knowledgable and easy going which made the day a very pleasant experience. He was also well connected and appeared to be well respected by at least 2 of the wineries we visited. Kersbrook Wines & Cider, Chateau Dorian & Kies Family were excellent, all with good knowledge, friendly staff and a good selection of wines..definitely check out the mead!! I would recommend Maddy to friends and family - great job mate & keep up the good work!

Absolutely wonderful tour. - What an amazing experience today, with Deep at the wheel, he took us on an entertaining fun filled and educational trip from Adelaide city into the Barrosa Valley to sample some of the most spectacular wines on offer. Although we were on time constraints, we were never rushed or made to feel we were dragging the chain? Thank you Deep, you were careful with your driving and clearly well educated with all things Adelaide and the Barrosa. You are an asset to the “bums on seats” business. Well done.

Barossa Valley - The group of people were amazing! There were some great wineries visited. The let down was the communication, which seemed echoed amongst the other guests. Two of us had spoken to the company and had been told different itineraries. I had messaged a month prior with accommodation details and never heard back from them. Overall, don’t know if worth the money but a great experience.
