Ketchikan Excursion You Don’t Want To Miss! - If you do one excursion while in Ketchikan, pick this one! Eric and Delaney were so knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw on this trip. Being out so close and personal and exploring sea urchins, eagles, porpoises and learning about the various types of birds was amazing. Making our way back, we saw humpback whales! The entire experience was so nicely done with outfitted gear to keep us warm and dry to the sweet sip of hot cocoa while on the water. You guys are the best, this was an unforgettable experience! Thank you!

Best 2 1/2 hour trip ivve ever experienced. Great time. - Excellent tour. The boat was a stud. It was exciting going from island to island checking out the birds and mammals in thee Northern Pacific. Eric and Nichols were fun, exciting knowledgeable and great hosts! Naming 7 different types of birds we saw. Then it was an Orca show. There were a pod of five putting on a show for us.

Fantastic tour--don't miss this one! - We had such an incredible time on this tour! Delaney and Eric are so knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife and the area and it's infectious. We learned about many new (to us) bird and marine species - I never thought I'd be a birdwatcher but that might change now! We saw humpback whales, a river otter, sea otters, kingfishers, pelagic cormorants, bald eagles (incl. fledglings), mussels, many varieties of sea stars, common murres, a steller sea lion, harbor seals, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, salmon, a blue heron, nudibranchs (sea slugs), Canada geese, and other bird varieties. It was a very different experience to be on the Zodiac and to get so close to the shoreline and truly be in the open--highly recommend! We learned about some of the giveback activities that Out to Sea does as well--picking up debris during our tour, beach cleanup days, counting birds and wildlife sightings and sharing with Cornell and other organizations for research. It's obvious that Delaney and Eric care very much about the environment, waters and wildlife. We also heard some great history of the area and got to see the Saxman totem village from the shoreline as we headed back in to dock. We will do this tour again the next time we are in Ketchikan and can't wait to bring our friends with us. Thank you, Out to Sea, for a truly fantastic experience!

One of the highlights of our vacation. - We stopped at Ketchikan on our cruise and thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was just my husband and I and the guides, Eric and Delaney. We saw seals, sea lions, eagles, a mink, as well as different types of starfish, sea urchins, and a jellyfish. We also saw a lot of other birds. They provided the gear to keep us warm and dry as well as coffee and a snack. Eric and Delaney were awesome, very knowledgeable and friendly. Delaney kindly emailed a list of all the birds we saw after the tour.

A very professional outfit - After doing a large boat for the Misty Fjords tour, I was intrigued at how a small Zodiac expedition might offer a different perspective. Out to Sea Expeditions delivered exactly what I was hoping. The Zodiac allows you to get far closer to shorelines, see seabirds and experience whales right at the waterline. Delaney offered a wealth of information while Eric ran the boat with quiet competence. I particularly appreciated how well outfitted we were for cold, wet and windy weather. Comfortable the entire time. Recommended!

The Best Excursion In Our Alaskan Trip - Wow!! These guys are very knowledgeable and provided the best excursion experience of our entire Alaskan trip. This unique experience gets you up close to whales, sea lions, seals and Alaska. We did a larger boat whale tour later and this wilderness expedition was far better! They equipped us with excellent rain gear … which made the rainy day comfortable and fun. Plus, their personable approach to our trip reminded me of why owner operated businesses are the best!

Amazing Ketchikan Excursion!! Highly recommend!! - Such an amazing excursion. Delaney and Eric were so knowledgeable and found tons of wildlife for us to see. We saw humpbacks, orcas, sea stars, seals, anemones, and bald eagles. It was a small boat, with only 6 people (including the crew), loved having a small group vs a large boat. We got right up to the shore line, and were able to see so much! They even explained the kelp and we got to touch it. I will never forget this amazing experience!!!

Highly recommend for those seeking a small tour! - This tour is a great way to see more of the small details and ask questions than might be possible on a bigger boat or tour. There were 6 guests, plus our pilot, Eric, and our naturalist, Jenny. We saw everything from brilliantly colored tidal pool sea stars, to jumping fish and feeding whales. We even ate some kelp and heard about Eric's experiment with kelp pickles. Eric and Jenny both brought an incredible wealth of knowledge and background to the experience. We heard about so much more history and interesting tidbits that wouldn't have been possible with a larger group. Out to Sea provided everything we needed, from dry gear to gloves, hats and shoe covers if needed. We were plenty warm! After the tour, there's a local watering hole right next door to grab a drink and overhear more local stories.
