Perfect tour in Ketchikan - The tour Guide was born and raised in Ketchikan. He therefore knows all the places and how to perfectly time the sightseeing in order to avoid most of the crowds. There were 16,000 cruise ship tourists that day, but we were a small van of only two couples we saw bears, salmon, eagles, and a beautiful, walkable beach with hundreds of starfish. While we drove around the small town, he told us a lot of the history of Ketchikan and some very funny stories. The weather was flawless. We saw everything on the scheduled itinerary and he got us back to our meeting point with another hour to shop around the main part of town. Highly recommend!

Best day ever! - We had the best time on our tour of Ketchikan with Johnny! He was so accommodating to our ship port schedule and made sure we were where we needed to be. Communication was quick and helpful from the time of booking. Spending time with Johnny was like being with an old friend. We learned so much about Alaskan life, local businesses, culture, wildlife, and history. We all agree that our tour with Johnny was the highlight of our entire trip to Alaska! You won’t be disappointed! BOOK NOW!

Johnny is a treasure trove of Ketchikan knowledge. - We booked this tour and Johnny really made our time in the port amazing. We got to see salmon jumping out of the water, bears eating salmon straight from a creek and bald eagles in their natural habitat. We got to ride in a comfortable van the entire time from spot to spot. All along the way our tour guide was giving us the history of every nook and cranny of the town. He is a life long Alaskan and it shows. His stories about the town and people in it alone is worth the cost of this tour. Definitely recommend, definitely would re-book.

Right place, right time! - Johnny was a great tour guide…funny and knowledgeable! He grew up in Ketchikan so he knows a lot about the history and the best spots to see wildlife. We saw a black bear catch a salmon from a creek and eat it on the bank! Wow!

Awesome Tour for Exploring Ketchikan - Great tour! Johnny has great local insight, is very warm and enthusiastic. Lots of laughs together as we learned about local Native American culture, sampled wild salmon berries, viewed spawning salmon, bald eagles, a waterfall, beach at low tide with lots of critters. Didn’t see a bear this time around but he certainly tried hard to find one for us. We’ll have to come back and try again next time!

Wildlife, landscape, and history on "Over the Top Tours" makes for a tour of a lifetime! - If you want the best experience possible on a wildlife tour in Ketchikan, AK, then touring with a local from "Over the Top Tours" is the BEST choice (Oh, and you can't beat the price either! ) Our guide was Johnny, the friendliest, most welcoming, entertaining, and knowledgeable guide I could've asked for. I hopped in the large white van with 9 or 10 people and had the experience of a lifetime. Johnny showed us everything making sure we saw as much as possible including eagles, bears, a whale, sea otter, a beautiful waterfall, a short walk through the always green rainforest, and Alaska Native American totem poles. Johnny's enthusiasm, joy for life, and love of his home was infectious! He told us stories, History, and jokes as we drove along the scenic highway leading out of town. If we didn't see something he drove somewhere else and stopped back by later, giving us a second chance. He drove down places that were not on his tour route to make sure we got to see as much as possible. He even extended our tour time (after checking our schedules, of course) to make sure we were satisfied. If I ever go back to Ketchikan, Alaska I will definitely take a tour with Johnny again!

Fabulous tour. We saw bears, eagles and much. more - Amazing tour by a local guy who knew what was what and showed us the beach, the bears, the eagles, a deer and some local orcas, as well as a tour of the town and seafront and the totem poles. He was early, we packed a-lot on to 2.5 hours but it was as planned and excellent. Thanks Jonny x
