Additional Information

Embark on a 4-hour guided kayak adventure to Clover Pass, spending approximately 2 to 2.5 hours actually kayaking. We offer flexible scheduling that will accommodate almost every cruise ship timetable. This magnificent water passage, surrounded by numerous rainforest islands, is located around 15 miles north of the city. Your guides will ensure you experience areas less frequented by crowds and often with superior weather conditions. You will be exploring 3 picturesque islands where the lush rainforest meets the ocean. Clover Pass is part of the Tongass National Forest, the largest of its kind in the U.S. On most trips, you’ll encounter the local Steller sea lions, seals, bald eagles, various bird species, and a wealth of intertidal creatures. Occasionally, humpback whales, orcas, porpoises and leaping salmon might cross your path. On rare occasions, you may even spot Sitka deer or black bears near the beach.

Although we cannot promise specific wildlife sightings, Clover Pass is unrivaled for wildlife encounters near Ketchikan. Furthermore, our microclimate, located north of the city, frequently offers drier weather and smoother water conditions compared to the city center.

Wonderful Ketchikan Kayak tour. - This was such a beautiful relaxing tour (you can set your own pace). Our guide, Adam, was really good. We ended up being the only two on this trip, so it was especially nice. Adam was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Adam took some really terrific pictures and videos of us with amazing scenery in the background. He downloaded them to our phones at the end of the tour. We also took a ton of photos. We saw a bald eagle that had a giant king salmon on the rocks and was eating it. The logistics of this tour were very smooth. The boat ride to and from town out to the kayaks was almost as good as the kayak tour itself. We had to reschedule this and another tour with this company. Devon, the owner, took care of our every concern. It is so refreshing to talk to a "live" person who understands customer service.

Coasting with eagles - Tony was an incredible guide. Very warm and welcoming. He is very knowledgeable about the area and was willing to answer all of our questions. We saw so many bald eagles! They were drifting about, fishing and singing their songs. It was a super peaceful kayak experience. We would definitely go again!

Great guides and wildlife viewing! - This was one of the best excursions we went on in Alaska. Our guides Carsten, Brenna and Tony were super helpful for those of us who were new to kayaking and great guides. It was never strenuous and they gave us plenty of time to check stuff out. We were lucky with fabulous weather and saw a humpback whale, a seal, lots of eagles, jellyfish, and starfish. I would highly recommend this tour to get out in nature and enjoy a serene experience!

Easy paced, mild exertion morning - Did not feel rushed through the process of fitting us with gear, life jackets, and kayak tips. Enjoyed the scenery and wildlife. Loved looking at and holding various sea life. Had a few sprinkles intermittently but fortunate to only have that.

Quiet and beautiful paddle around Clover Pass - A great way to relax on a kayak in beautiful Clover Pass. We saw lots of Eagles, starfish and a sea urchin, and a mink. Carsten was full of knowledge about local ecosystem and a pleasure to paddle with. Snacks afterward were unique to the region and delicious!

Ketchikan Kayak - Pickup is included. Wet gear is available to wear. Tour guides were friendly. Saw some sea lions, bald eagles, star fish and jelly fish. Idled for some time but couldn't spot any seals. Rained a little but that's just the weather. Dry bag and snacks also provided. Good choice for land excursion.

A bad weather day but..... - The guides were very friendly, competent and informative - they did the best they could with the adverse conditions (raining and 20mph winds). However, the lack of spray skirts on the kayak combined with the lack of rubber feet protection made for wet shoes and lower pants legs, and the full body wetsuits were cumbersome. Warm beverages were much appreciated at the end, but the prior tour depleted the snacks supply.
