Highlights
  • Iron Mountain Road - Iron Mountain Road offers an unforgettable experience, being one of the most unique and captivating roads in America. This 17-mile stretch in the Black Hills leaves everyone in awe with its stunning mountain views, famous one-way tunnels, and distinctive pigtail bridges. The road is designed to encourage a slower pace, allowing you to see and feel things that are out of the ordinary.
  • Mount Rushmore National Memorial - We guide you through the Memorial, sharing its history and suggesting the best spots for photos. Due to the length of the tour day, we spend 1 hour here. For those interested in more time to explore, we recommend our Monuments Combo Tour, which includes Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore with 2 hours at each site.
  • Sylvan Lake - Sylvan Lake is perhaps the most recognizable of the five lakes in Custer State Park, and arguably any lake in the Black Hills. It is a favorite among photographers, artists, and fans of the Nicolas Cage movie “National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.”
  • Needle Eye Tunnel - This is the most ‘interesting’ of the many one-way tunnels, being just wide enough for vans and cars, but not for buses and RVs. With us, you can sit back and enjoy the fantastic view as we navigate the tunnel.
  • Stockade Lake - Stockade Lake is the largest of the five lakes in Custer State Park. It is the most tranquil and serene, making it a perfect spot for a lakeside picnic.
  • Wildlife Loop Road - We take a leisurely drive along this 18-mile road, stopping for photo opportunities of buffalo and other wildlife such as elk, deer, antelope, coyotes, and prairie dogs. We stop so you can stand and capture great views and photos.
  • Custer State Park Visitor Center - The visitor center features large dioramas of buffalo and other wildlife found throughout the park, along with a ranger-narrated map showing the latest wildlife locations. There are also many interactive exhibits to touch and feel.
  • Crazy Horse Memorial - We stop to explore this massive Native American Memorial, which houses over 14,000 exhibits. We also watch a wonderful 20-minute film about the memorial, its purpose, and the challenges faced in its construction.

Let them do the driving! - We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Kevin did a great job driving us safely throughout all of the sights and we saw and learned so much by having a guide. There is no way we would of seen near as much as we did if we had not booked this tour. Driving the needles highway is some intense driving if your not used to very high tight roads and no way I could of enjoyed it as the driver. Being able to actually relax and see the sights was absolutely worth every penny. Our group of 5 loved the experience and 100% would do it again.
