We don’t employ seasonal, part-time guides, or interns, as this is a family-run operation with all tours led by family members Cindy, Christopher, and John Esposti. With our knowledge and adeptness, we strive to create a memorable experience for you. With GeoFunTrek Tours, you’re guaranteed top-notch guidance every time.

All tours are exclusively PRIVATE TOURS, only for the group that books the trip, without additional guests. At least one adult must accompany children. Kids aged 3 or younger don’t have to pay and will get their own seat. It falls on family members to provide children’s car seats if necessary. Our largest conveyance is a 9-seater Sprinter van, and we can rent a bigger vehicle or add a Honda Pilot for larger crowds. This tour is perfect for families of three generations, multiple couples, and groups of friends.

  • GEOFUNTREK TOURS SAFETY UPDATE COVID-19 Your comfort and safety are our primary concern. Take a private tour, limited to your group only and enjoy the day. We have only three guides: John, Chris & Cindy. They are family members from the same household. They constantly monitor each other’s health. So even when not at work “THE BOSS” is always watching.
  • We do not have vehicles with a wheelchair lift. We can accommodate a folding wheechair and the guest must be able to enter and exit the vehicle on their own. We will gladly assist with any needed assistance and pushing.

Experience of a Lifetime in the Black Hills - We had been wanting to go out to South Dakota for many years as my husband and his children had never been but I had and had spectacular memories of the monuments and the parks. When I was putting together an itinerary, I suggested that we take a private tour of the "BIG bigs" so we could maximize our time, our learnings and so my husband wouldn't have to drive after driving in from Chicago the day before. John called us the day before to set everything up and the morning of our tour, he was there on time and with everything he could possibly need to make us comfortable for the day! He had water, snacks - everything! We departed from our hotel and along the way, John told us about him and his long history in the area which certainly make him a credible tour guide! But more so, he knew ALL the history and shared it with us in a way that was interesting and engaging. When we arrived at Mount Rushmore, John said he would grab some umbrellas and although it didn't look like rain, he was right! And he had umbrellas for us all and a back up plan for us to check out a super cool video about Mount Rushmore which I might have otherwise skipped. But I was so glad I didn't! John's tour was flexible and allowed us to decide where we wanted to spend more time. He was incredibly kind and ensured that he looked hard and asked everyone and took us around until we finally saw some bison. He knew a lot about those too! But certainly, I think that the most memorable part of this entire tour (besides the sights!) was his cowboy poetry, which stays with us. His ability to recall and recite such impactful poetry was something I'll never forget - And I've done more to look up additional poetry by the same author. It was impressive but impactful and something neither my family nor I will ever forget. The cost was 1000% worth it as the my family and I agreed that was the best day. Not just for the sights, but for what we learned and what we took from it - A great testament to John's contribution to our day. I know that we would have had a good day seeing these things, but John made it a day we'll never forget. I cannot recommend ENOUGH! Thank you for this wonderful memory!

John our guide was very nice and very informative of different things. - Seeing Mount Rushmore in person!! Pictures you see in books doesn’t show the actual beauty of it. Walking thru it was great. Wish the Crazy Horse tour had the bus ride up closer to it.

Best guided tour we have ever had!! - We had a great day with Chris our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. He answered all our questions and allowed us as much time as we needed at the different stops. We saw and learned about things that we would have never seen on our own. He went out of his way to find a huge herd of bison in Custer Park. The bison walked right by our vehicle and we got some great pics! The highlight was Mount Rushmore, something we had always wanted to see. We highly recommend Chris and the GeoFunTrek tour! Thanks Chris. Kirk & Elaine Denton

Stop thinking about it and just book the tours - Highly recommend these tours. The Mount Rushmore tour was so great that we booked the Badland tour for the following day. We highly recommend both of them. Chris was our guide. He is extremely knowledgeable able the history of the area and he enjoys sharing the information. We is an excellent driver. He knows all of the hair pin turns on the roads, as well at the great photo opportunities. We were able to relax and enjoy our over due vacation.

Book it you won’t regret it!!!! - If you are on the fence book it. Worth every penny. Chris was amazing. He knew a lot of history and pointed out things we most certainly would have missed including a buffalo herd with babies. He also gave us other tidbits of info about dining and other sites. Great time. Thanks Chris!!!!!!

Well worth it! - I’m so glad we made the choice to book this tour! Chris taught us so much and it was really nice to sit back and enjoy the drive while soaking in new information. Not having to deal with parking at the monuments is a major plus as well. Highly recommend! Thank you Chris!

The best experience with GeoFunTrek Tours! - We had the best experience with GeoFunTrek Tours. Our guide, Chris picked us up on time at our hotel and took us to Mount Rushmore. The van was large and clean, and they even had a step for us to get on and off which was thoughtful. He told us a ton of history and facts on the way. At Mount Rushmore, Chris took photos for us and toured us around the site. Then we got in the van and drove to Custer State Park, where he offered us as many snacks and drinks as we wanted, and we needed them since we were hungry! Custer State Park was amazing, and we stopped for photos on the Needles Highway. The views were incredible. In the park we did the wildlife loop where we saw bison, big horned sheep, and antelope. We stopped at the gift shop, which added a little more time to our trip, and Chris was flexible and even extended the trip for us a bit. Overall, we had a 10/10 experience! GeoFunTrek was able to work with us to have a tour that was just the right amount of time for our group from 9am-2pm, they were experienced, knowledgeable, fun, safe, and professional. Would absolutely recommend for all adults or a family with kids, and anyone else wanting an incredible day of tours! We loved it!
