Additional Information

The Musandam region, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northernmost part of the Sultanate. The dramatic Musandam peninsula is perhaps one of the most scenically spectacular areas in the Gulf. These stunning fjords have earned the area the nickname “The Norway of Arabia.” The peninsula is primarily inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen likely descended from the original inhabitants of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula’s main industry, with packing plants located in al-Khasab and Bay’ah. Transportation is mostly by sea, as no roads traverse the challenging terrain. Musandam - Khasab is very close to the United Arab Emirates and easily accessible by road for visitors from the UAE. Musandam - Khasab is unique due to its spectacular fjords, natural dolphins, coastal views, tallest mountain, historical Telegraph and Seebi Island, and Bedouin villages in the fjords and mountains.

Dolphin cruise - Great. Loved every minute. Worth it to see the gorgeous creatures !! Smooth pick up and informative and fun. Cloudy water so don't expect clear snorkelling.

An Interesting Day Out - Crossing the border checkpoints didn't take too long and we were soon on our way. Lovely scenery, friendly, informative and helpful crew on the dhow, Managed to see a few dolphins and get in a bit of snorkelling. Twenty of us on board so plenty of room and enough food to go round. Just remember that if you are doing this trip from Dubai it's someting like a 14 hour day from pick up to drop off.
