- Khlong Toei Market - This distinctive half-day tour begins daily at 08:00 and 13:00 hrs from FYI Center, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand. The guide will be waiting with a sign displaying your name.
We will walk to Talat Klongtoey, the largest fresh market in the Thai capital and one of the most genuine markets in the city. It draws a diverse range of shoppers, from street food vendors to chefs from Bangkok’s top five-star hotel restaurants. The market resembles a small town within a city, featuring a network of stalls offering everything from fresh fruit, herbs, and vegetables, to meat, insects, live frogs, ducks, chickens, clothing, and numerous other items.
- Chao Phraya River - After exploring the market, we will take a short tuk-tuk ride to the pier, where we will board a longtail boat to cross the Chao Phraya River, known as the ‘River of Kings’.
Upon disembarking on the other side of the river, it feels as though we have entered a completely different world. There are no high-rise buildings, minimal traffic, and an abundance of trees and plants. Welcome to Bangkok’s ‘Green Lung’!
- Bangkachao - Largely undiscovered by tourists, this area allows you to escape the traffic jams and noise of bustling Bangkok for the sounds of singing birds and a refreshing breeze while cycling on peaceful backroads and hidden pathways. You will gain a great insight into the local lifestyle, far removed from the crowded and well-known tourist spots. We will cycle past banana trees and coconut plantations, passing local stilt houses, and stop at a non-touristy Buddhist temple. At a local restaurant, we will savor a delicious Thai meal (Pad Thai – Thai noodles or Khao Pad – fried rice) before continuing to a well-maintained public park where we will feed the fish. If you’re fortunate, you might spot some of the park’s famous residents, the large monitor lizards! Although they appear intimidating, they are actually harmless.
Regrettably, it will be time to cycle back to the pier and cross the river once more to bustling Bangkok. On the other side, assistance will be provided to arrange a taxi back to your hotel.
