- Bangkachao - Ferry to Bangkrachao and Cycle along the River Banks
Take a local motorcycle ferry across the bustling Chao Phraya River. Then, cycle along elevated bike paths through local villages and plantations.
The Old Betel Nut Garden
Pause for some homemade refreshments in a family garden with stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, and take a moment to observe the ship and barge traffic on the river.
The Firefly Garden
Before human settlement, Bang Krachao was a vast mangrove forest that would illuminate at night with fireflies. Today, the local community has established a reserve where visitors can see the mangroves as they once were, allowing fireflies to thrive. Although fireflies are not visible during the day, visitors are welcome to return at night.
- Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok - The Ganesh Shrine
Winding away from the mangroves through villages and local Buddhist temples, stop to visit a shrine dedicated to Ganesh, the Hindu god of beginnings and remover of obstacles. His followers in Thailand have established a beautiful shrine to Ganesh in Bangkrachao.

Embark on a journey to the untouched haven of Bang Krachao, known as the green lung of Bangkok, complete with its expansive network of elevated cycling trails that meander through lush mangrove woodlands, quaint farmlands, serene hamlets, and sacred Buddhist shrines. The rigorous zoning laws and natural landforms have shielded this area from the encroaching metropolis of Bangkok, branding it as Bangkok’s Secret Garden.
Navigate through narrow lanes and hidden pathways to reach the ferry. Once you’ve crossed over the Chao Phraya River to Bang Krachao with your bike, you’ll be thrust into the ultimate biking experience.
Glide along the peaceful trails at your own relaxed rhythm, encountering indigenous birds, the occasional squirrel, and the odd lizard here and there. Take a break from riding to indulge in a light bite at a traditional betel nut farm, explore a mangrove preservation zone, and then continue cycling amidst the verdant canopy of trails leading you to a revered idol of the Hindu deity Ganesh. Your venture ends with a visit to a local temple and marketplace.
